The Old Rugged Victorinox Cross..... Pioneer content, grails and such.... Red Gold...

It sure is, a blue farmer on an auction site just went for over $200 this past week. Definitely blew up someone bank account.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of greg c, I can now say I'm eligible to enlist in the Alox Army, or Alox Alliance, or whatever you folks call it! I should probably thank Dan (Parke1) as well, since it was a photo of a modded Pioneer that he posted back around page 14 of this thread that inspired a short exchange of posts between greg c and me about the suitability of the Electrician's sheepsfoot blade for whittling. Anyway, out of the blue, greg offered to send me his wonderful Electrician, and it arrived last Thursday. It certainly helped take the sting out of an awful showing in the playoffs by my Detroit Tigers! Here's a photo that doesn't do the knife justice at all! Thanks again, Greg!!

It's not enough to be a member of the AloxAlliance, one must stand ready to embrace the most insidious of diseases, the AloxPox.;)

I'm hoping that the vaccination I got will protect me from AloxPox, but I fear that resistance is futile.

Yes, resistance is futile...pure denial, plain and simple. Admit your failings, admit you're addicted, and find a sponsor who will guide you through the AloxPox Twelve Step Program (steps that I have yet to come up with, but I'm working on it); you will find some relief, but you will always have the Pox...but it will work if you work it.:D

Ah, yes, even the longest journey begins with Twelve Steps! I'll confess that as ecstatic as I am over that silver Electrician, this thread has created a strong desire in me to get alox in another (or several) color(s).

An old Elinox Soldier:confused: I believe Robert told me when it was approx manufactured when I posted it before but retention is a fleeting thing for me:D

Then I just can't leave well enough alone---since I broke the tip off my Apocalypse Green Pruner Jennifer, aka Jone so kindly gifted me (which I then re-profiled) I slightly tweaked the pruner to what Jennifer called a Sheepsbill/Hawksfoot on my Gunmetal Carver;)

Here's the before...

The Elinox tang stamp was 57-75 if I remember correctly.....

My SAK buddy (that helped me rebuild my collection) just emailed me that he had a set (Pioneer/Farmer) of Elinox Vics for me..no more details. :)

Looked it up...ELINOX was 57-74. I was close.
