I'm getting a BM 522 in 440C tomorrow! Pretty excited about it actually. I have a small hoard of 440 knives and all have been great. Really similar to 154.
 
Chris, and all of you, should be careful about posting your emails on open forums. Bot scanners can pick those up easy. equals a lot of spam and Trojan mail.

Just a helpful warning.

Nice! It is an older version, but like so many knives in this thread this is begging to be used and I won't, so happy to ship it to someone who will! Have to admit i know almost nothing about 440c, but I am probably not alone in that regard. Someone please enlighten me after I post some pics :)

440c is a fine steel. It's basically 154cm but not quite as fancy, or abrasion resistant.
 
Over 300 posts! I would have never have thought this post would have gone this far... and this fast! You all are great people! I'm signing out for the night, but keep giving and getting! I can't wait to see what happens by the end of the weekend!

This is an awesome thread! Any idea how far back in pages there are things available? I have a small box of some things that I can offer up.

There are things available all over the place! It's worth a read anyway. Pleasant.
 
It is my turn to put something up.

First is a Torrey brand straight razor (its a good american razor brand), this is the first straight that I shaved with. it is hollow ground but is closer to a wedge than many other hollow ground (I'd put it between 1/2 and 1/4 hollow). It shaves well, it has been honed by Mainaman on straight razor place. I would prefer that the straight razor go to someone who wants to try to learn to use a straight razor. This is my preference, but it is up for grabs for anyone, I have enjoyed it, and now it is time to pass it on

the second is a Camillus made TL-29, the one in the picture is not the one that will be shipped, but put there as a place holder, It is in similar condition, I got a very good deal on 2 of these, and will be giving away the one I don't carry.

and to whomever gets the razor, if they are new to straight razors I can make some good recommendations on where to get reasonably priced strops, brushes, and shave soap

Yea yea mr popular with the 2 day old thread that's already 16 pages. Lol no seriously man I said it several pages back but thanks again, its been awesome finding all the stuff I've given out and telling the people about my stuff, especially the hand made stuff (the heavily modified cryo, the custom built flashlight, the paracord stuff), its fun to see people excited about getting something that was important to you, or even better made by you.
This is the first time on any forum I've been an active poster threw out this long of a thread and I'm having a blast! Usually I'm the one trying to read back threw pages and pages of stuff to catch up, luckily I've kept up with it this time, for once I actually know what's going on, woo-hoo!lol

1) Opinel No.6 Plain Carbon Steel - This was my first Opinel that was recently replaced by a No.8 Olive Wood. It made me realize the difference between my needs and wants. 2) Wenger Commander - Shout out to Kyui Su Kim here on the forums! He gave this to me as a bonus in a trade and really boosted my faith in the community. I really wanted to use this knife, but an Alox Farmer that I received in a giveaway has put the Weneger in the storage drawer. Shout out to spketch for the Farmer! As for the Wenger, the scales have a bit of "keychain rash", but the blades appear to have kept the factory edge.

To keep the karma rolling I will offer up 100 nickel plated 45acp cases. These are mixed headstamps, deprimed and tumbled. I bought a bunch last year at a gun show and can spare a few. Just shoot me an email at FL45acp@gmail.

If anyone has an Opinel #8 or 9 that needs a new home I'm looking to adopt! LoL
