For myself it was a small Sebenza that I ended up selling for the money. Now I have gone through many more small knives, and find myself wanting another small sebbie
Actually it's 2 knives...The Cold Steel Recon Scout and REKAT Pioneer II, that I traded for a Seiko 150m Quartz Dive Watch that quit working 2 months after I received it..
This bowie from Tim Hancock. I needed money a while ago and sold it to a forumite. I missed it immediately. Now it is listed on Knifeart.com, but I cannot afford to buy it. Oh well, I got to own it for a few years anyway.
...with the first being a 2000 large ironwood inlaid Sebenza, got the 2001 version but not the 2000 . The second was a perfect functioning CTII that had the best lockup of any I've tried!
Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk, thats water under the bridge, your hindsight better than your foresight............well you get the picture!
I bought a large, old style Sebenza with a new style BG-42 blade refit on it. Got it from the 4th, tradedit to Pontiacer who traded it to the late Jim Mattis who sold it to some ucky devil. Great knife, should be carrying today.
There were a couple of really nice balisongs I wish I had kept.
Both were Pacific Cutlery from the early 80's. A 5" Custom WeeHawk by Jody Samson. Mirror-finished nickel silver latched handles with burgundy inserts. Fine. The other a same vintage by same maker; 5" WeeHawk-Tanto with skeleton handles, latched.
As was the custom in my unit it VietNam, we gave our replacement our weapons and any other gear that hadn't rotted away to nothing. I gave my replacement a Tru-Balance Battle Blade. Been looking for one to replace it for over 30 years. One of the patrons of this forum has been kind enough to help me out for which I am very gratefull. Believe it or not, I have every knife I have ever owned other than that one. When I was about 10yrs old my dad gave me a 3 blade Case. I still have it. I have several Spyderco's a Buck or 2, a Puma White Hunter, 3 different Gerbers, 1 Cold Steel, and Uncle Henry Skinner that I bought at age 12 to skin squirrels, a couple throwers from Gil Hibben, a spanish bayonet that fits my FR8 and probably one or two others that I'd have to look around for to name. That one Tru Balance is the only knife I don't have and the one I want the most
I actually have the opposite problem - I have alot of knives I wish I hadn't bought. I have learned so much about knives from this forum that I now have higher standards, and don't like alot of the knives I bought when I was a total ignoramous about knives.
Guess it's not a knife but it does fit in the thread...
This one is one I do miss a bit, but have one penciled in for later on next year, I hope....I know the person that got this sword is very happy, as he tells me all the time!!
G2
a Rob Criswell Sword, Katana, 27" blade, A2 steel and razor sharp and well balanced...I picked this up through Win Heger, great guy to deal with and has excellent tastes as well! Thanks again Win!
A BM 720 that my grandmother gave to me for Christmas one year. She has since passed away and I really wish I hadn't sold it. It was the only knife she ever gave me and now I don't have. It makes me sad when I think about it.
Eventhough I am in to customs more than productions anymore, one knife I sold eight years ago I truly regret. An Al MAr SERE VII. Great knife, boy was I stupid
