The one knife that you wish you had kept

ZigZag Umfaan -- I was so distrought I had to start looking for another. I ended up with a circles Umfaan which I like, but the ZigZag was my first CRK knife and I still think I prefer that pattern.

Oh yeah -- I am also missing my 812 mini AFCK M2S - It is just a great carry knife that sits low in the pocket and thin and cuts like crazy. But I guess I will have to be patient for the Axis lock version.

There are two for me also:
Small wood inlaid Sebenza (I traded to NCBlades)
Busse Basic 9 (now that they are discontinued I wished I'd kept it)

Sold my Busse Natural Outlaw (smooth finish) awhile back.
Guess I'll have to plead temporary insanity on that one:(

Harvey McBurnette folder, fully engraved bolsters, lock bar and liners.Bought it in 88 at the Guild show from Harvey for $375. Sold it to A.G. Russell for $800 dollars at the 01 Guild show.Dont know what I was thinking, I would give a good bit more to have it back, it was the finest knife I have ever owned.

Funny thing is I thought I would spend the money on another knife at the show, I didnt, I spent it the next week on a root canal.

Word of advice NEVER sell the ones you really like, you will always regret it.

I sold both a small and large Sebenza. :barf: The lure of money is just too great!

This burns my britches ! I traded with a ( so-called )
friend ; and when I wanted to trade back, he sold the
knife !

My small Sebenza. :( This was knife that I had in my pocket before I met my current girlfriend and on our first date and henceforth. I tried to track it down, but no luck.

I traded my Busse Lean Mean Street prototype and variant for a Chris Reeve Tanto 1. At the time I had a couple of Busse knives and just wanted to have a CRK in my collection. The Tanto 1 will probabaly never be used but the Lean Mean Street used to be one of my EDCS.

I had the edge on that LMS sooo sharp it would cut like a streight razor.

My M2 BM AFCK traded with Nemo. I only realised how much I had gotten used to that knife, little faults and all, a couple of months after it was gone. Still I made a great friend and that is worth FAR more to me.:)

Spyderco Calypso full sized with the micarta scales.

BJK stag folding Mamba that matched the early Puma White Hunter...both gone.

The Benchmade Delta Raider and Walter Brend folder that made a set...both gone.

More cool RMK's than I can shake a stick at, about a half dozen.

The BM auto's and Bali's...all gone.

Those cool Winchester Stag folders...all gone.

The early Gerber HS CW Ffh and Mark II...both gone.

I could go on, but it's too painful to remember...

Shoot, all the knives I've sold...I miss them all *sob* :(

Mel, in knife purgatory...

The up side? Almost complete sets of Al Mar SERE's, RMK's, and A/F fixed blades... :D

BM 710 in ats-34 w/ bt2 coat.
Also, an Outdoor Edge Impulse. I understand they are discontinued. As solid a lock up as any knife I've held. A sleeper design in my opinion. I have to start saving for the krait, if Darrel Ralph still makes them.

Buck/Strider SB1 tanto in ATS-34. It was the knife that I was illegally arrested over at CSU Fresno a little over a year ago. I'll get another someday. Til then, I have a Strider logo tattooed on my arm that I can look at.

MT L-UDT - My first auto. I mirror polished the blade and ended up trading it to Chris Connoley for a IIa kevlar vest which I traded to Seth Thomas for an old grind Socom. The Socom got stolen a month or so later.  :(

I really regret letting go of my RCC/Broadwell MLR Fighter (#18). Great knife and a perfect match to my MLR sub-hilt. Even had the same serial number!

Does anyone out there have good ole #18 that they want to get rid of? :(

The one I miss the most was an old, vintage CaseXX Stockman with jigged bone scales I traded off as a kid. It was my first good pocketknife, and I traded it to a guy for an old hunting knife I thought I wanted at the time. Oh, the folly of youth...

Mick, after I get out of basic and AIT (11x), I'm taking a train to SoKal to visit you guys at the Strider shop if it's cool with you. I don't have any pics or a digicam you'll just have to wait til I'm done at Ft Benning.

The knife I regret letting go of the most was a stag handled Ray Cover single bladed Canoe that I traded at a local dealer for a CRK Umfaan. Although that Cover had a very stiff back spring, it was a heck of a well made knife, and it was a custom. The irony is that I sold the Umfaan shortly after I traded for it.

I bought an Al Mar Pathfinder many years ago and it doesn't have any serial numbers on it. Does this affect the value? Is this a prototype? I love the knife/Machette but if it's real valuable then I would probably sell it. Any recommendations are apprreciated.

Eric
