Now don't get me wrong, I love a good two bladed jack knife, but they seem to get a lot of attention around here especially with those cults. The Stockman knife is a workhorse, three blades and a ton of cutting power in a small package. Growing up in Texas, the cowboy lifestyle was all around and the stockman knife was and still is of an ever present item of daily pocket duty. Of course you would see all kinds of knives around but I personally really took a shinin' to the good ole 3 blade stockman and so did the countless hard working men and women of my homeland. I believe I got my first stockman when I was probably not much older than 7, an Old Timer that my Dad bought me when we took a trip to the local sporting good store. I remember thinking it was just about the coolest thing I had ever owned and wish I still had that knife, but being an irresponsible kid, it was lost somewhere to never be found again. To this day as I look at my accumulations, I own more stockmen than any other pattern and it will probably be a favorite for years to come and continue to fulfill all kinds of daily needs. Well folks, I thought we needed us a bit of a Stockman "Club" thread just to show a little more presence in a highly populated two blade knife sub forum:D. Just post up a pic and maybe a story and your'e "in" the corral. Head em' up and move em' out boys and girls!

Here's a few of my favorites including my new yeller CV three spring.

Well, looking back over my knife carrying life, I can say that I carried a stockman more than any other pattern except maybe a scout/SAK type. My old scout knife dad gave me at age 12, got left home as I isn't want it stolen, so I carried a demo knife for several years. I bought a Buck stockman late in my army service, and carried that knife for the next 25 years. It was replaced by a Buck cadet for the next 5 years. I had a brief period in the 90's and early 2000's that I played with sodbusters before becoming a peanut fan. My whole life has been the scout and stockman patterns, except for the peanut that I can't handle anymore because of arthritis.

Now I'm back where I started, with a stockman and a SAK. The old Wenger SI dates back to the Buck stockman days. Order of the Cattle King? I guess I must be a card carrying member from way back. My 301 had dressed out a deer in Germany, trout in England, all kids of fish here in the U.S. of A., and many other jobs of one kind or another. Now my edc is a Northwoods stockman, and I love it.

Mark me down as a lover of the Stockman pattern as well - nice knives you guys are showing! Here is my first one, a Buck 301, gift from my Grandma in November 1970. OH

Carl, I have really been eyeballin' that Northwoods you got there, that really is a beaut of a knife.
Black Mamba, you have a heck of a pile there. I really need to pick up a Queen and a GEC stockman at some point.

Thanks, Rob, if you're ever up around St. Louis, give me a PM and you can come by and see the whole lot. Queen's D2 is really good stuff.

Thanks Jeff, very generous. I might take you up on that one day as my wife and I just moved here and have never been to St. Louis before. I have heard nothing but good things about Queens D2 and have really been wanting to try one at some point. The winterbottom delrin and the birdseye maple have really been calling to me.

I was wanting to be the first to get in the Stockman Club but by the time I got a pic. it was to late :(

Yup, if I don't have a #6 or 7 Opi in my pocket it's an old Stockman.
And if it has a punch...all the better.

Nothing like black mamba's collection, but left to right.. Old Crafty 9546, Old Timer 8OT, Hammer Brand Equal End with punch, 2 Imperials w/punches & an Old Timer 108OT with a broken and reground main.

The Red Imperial bit me with the half open, half worn spey while arranging the group.:o (I guess it likes me)
Gotta love that old steel.

I've also admired that Northwoods since you started posting pics of it Carl.

Good thread Red.

The only stockman I ever carried for any length of time - several years - was this old Case Tested.
I was kinda hard on it, but bruised and battered, it never quit. Took a razor edge easily, and kept it. I have forgotten who I gave it to, but I hope it is still doing pocket time!!

Moved on to a Bose WT, and of course, Barlows!!

This isn't all of them; I have two Buck 303s, for instance.

And a couple peanut-sized or smaller.

A few photos for the club. I also like stockmen (and cattle knives) very much!

Jeff, you do? Could have fooled me:p

This big fella has been in my pocket 24/7 since the day it arrived. It's big but it pockets well in my work pants and has a heapin' helpin' o blades on tap ready for use.

I humbly submit my application for Membership :)
