I only have two so far, but I think I'm being won over by the stockman pattern:

(One of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes as a backdrop)

GEC 82 Dixie Stock Knife in indian paint brush jigged bone
Rough Rider small stockman in black smooth bone

Maybe this would be a great place to ask, I think I want to try a medium (somewhere between these two, 2.75" to 4.25") stockman. I like the blades to sit low, especially the sheepfoot/wharnecliffe. I also wouldn't mind a punch instead of the spey. I prefer American (and within that I prefer Pennsylvania) made, but like some foreign value knives. I can go with stainless or carbon, but don't like the #cr##mov type stainlesses. I also don't mind the cigar type (cattle knife?). Any of you much more knowledgeable and versed stockman enthusiasts have suggestions? I'd really appreciate it!

I'd like to enter the Order, also!

thawk,

Those are beauties!!! Thanks for sharing.

My #66 Calf Roper (an SFO by Charlie) in Blood Red bone - this one is a huge favorite.

Jeff ( Mr Black Mamba ) my friend - that is such a credible collection Sir - I have just gone over it twice, and after this a 3rd time - thank you for sharing that great collection of fine knives!:pride:

Wow - and so that should be Arizona - that is one absolutely stunning knife - easily in my top 5 favourites of all time - man just check out that Bone - I find the fit and finish on these knives to be so close to perfect its not funny - these really are Custom Quality - yours looks fantastic!

^^^ Duncan,

I agree, it's simply stunning and I'm very impressed by it. IIRC you have one of these SFO's? Not very many were made with this peach seed jigging from what I understand.

Duncan, agreed, agreed! Hal's 61OT in stag is one of the primo stockmen of ALL-TIME!!!

It sure is Jeff , but the Schrade Walden too is just perfect = look at that lovely Bone, that Staglon is kinda cool too!

I do Arizona - did I hear someone say 6 or 7 were made?

Thanks, Duncan, I've been very fortunate in my stockman hunting.
Oh man have you what, so awesome to see.

I agree with what Jeff said about Sit's Imperial - wow what a handsome knife!

I own 2 Stockmen at present.
A Boker classic and a Chinese made Maple, both are good knives.
I used to have an IXL Stag handled Premium Stock knife, but it was stolen.

These pictures have been posted before, so apologies for posting them again.

Oh yeah, I love me some Stockman! I've only got three but they get regularly carried.

The #66 Calf Roper stockman is frequently carried; The Böker yellow bone stockman much less so, but when I do carry it I am completely smitten.

Nice knives everyone!

I have no pictures to post but the Stockman pattern certainly is my favorite and my most carried pattern. I really don't know how many knives I own in this pattern but it's probably between a dozen and twenty. Most of them are Case brand in various sizes. A few favorites are the Case medium size yellow delrin models, the big Queen Cattle Knife in Curly Zebrawood and the 5301 Moore Maker in smooth dirty yellow bone.
