I am a little late getting this thread started, but here it is!!
You owe it to yourself to get to this show at least once in your life!!

It's the highlight of my collecting year! My best knives have come from the offerings on the tables at this show!

See ya there!!

I will be there again this year. Look forward to seeing you Charlie and other BF members that can make it. It is indeed worth your effort to be there for sure. I got everything booked/reserved and will be there Thursday evening. Staying at the Courtesy Inn this year. The OKCA does a superb job with presenting the show and associated activities, demonstrations and exhibits. Complete sensory overload and the fellowship with other like minded individuals priceless! Not sure if my dad and I will make it this year. I'm pretty busy bouncing a two month old on my knee. Hopefully next year, if not. Either way...hope you all have a great time! Last year was very fun, it was great meeting some fine folks off this forum (Barry, Perry, Charlie, Dave, Somber, Lloyd et al) and get some quality time with my pops.

Anyway...planning on bringing anything special Charlie? I still dream about your magical tubs from last year.

Caleb

p.s. A little flashback to the pride of last year's weekend...a matching set for my dad and me.

I will be there. Got my OKCA membership card and my motel reservations have been made since early February. When I called, the first week of Feb, the Courtesy Inn was already booked up for that weekend and all of the OKCA special rates were also booked up at the River Valley Inn, so I am staying at La Quinta Inn. I am starting to get pretty excited about seeing that many knives in one room. Just waiting for the Canadian dollar to climb a bit higher (hopefully?) before getting my US cash.

I'll be there. Already have a hotel. Hope to come down early Friday, but have to stop at Danner in Portland to drop off a set of boots for a refurbishing. Do you know if they have tables still available?

Can't wait !! Got the $ set aside, car tuned up and I'm ready to go!! Looking forward to seeing Barry, Anne, Charlie, Joanne, Loyd and meeting new friends!
Eisman, I would be surprised if there are tables still available at this late a date.....but you never know! Go ahead and contact them!!
Hope to see you there! I'll be sitting with Charlie and Barry!!

These are beautiful! I'd love to add one of those to my knife roll but I'm never fast enough and the secondary prices are insane. That spear long pull is the best. Seems GEC will never get back to that particular set up. Unfortunately, it will be a few years before I can make it to this show.... Hopefully it continues to be great.

Those of you who do attend, make sure you post lots of pictures of the show here. I was able to score a knife I had been looking for after I saw it on someone's table, in a posted picture!

I loved reading the stories from last years show. Have fun!

Dennis Ellingsen reports that it is sold out!!
I look forward to seeing everyone!

Is it wrong to plan a trip to Oregon/Washington/BC around a knife show? I plan on visiting the Leatherman, Benchmade and Kershaw factory while I'm out there, but the Oregon Knife Collector club/association posts info about shows near me, and their pictures look like a lot of fun.

Yes, this is down the track a bit as I've heard those down under say (Duncan correct me if I'm wrong).

Actually, looking at five years down the road.

I enjoyed the pics and stories from last year. As for me someday maybe, I really hope. I'm on call that weekend anyhow. Please post photos from the weekend. Thanks.

The first five Bladeforums traditional posters who identify themselves to me will get a free knife!!!
Starts Saturday at opening time!!
Get in line!!!:D

This sounds like a lot of fun (as does the GEC Rendezvous), but Oregon (and especially Pennsylvania) are quite a hike from Arizona. I'll have to start practicing my pitch to the wife for next year. I can already hear her response: "You want to go to Oregon for what...?" :D

It's a Wayne Goddard model, not sure when it was made but there have been several variations. Wayne is normally at the show selling them.

Very generous offer, Charlie. I will be in line, providing my skiddly 128 traditional posts in the last 8 years (or an average of about 16 posts per year ) is sufficient to qualify me.

Charlie I love knife shows but I'm too old and beat up to travel 3000 miles for one. I bet you could put on a great one man show with your collection. :D By the way thanks for all you do around here and for all of us knife knuts in general.
