I was gonna get the regular folding Hissatsu, then this came around.

I'll have to pick one up. Don't know why but I know I like it. Just wish they would use a higher grade of steel. keepem sharp

AUS8 has never really done me wrong. I am just happy that companies are moving back to the 4" folder market.

Get one.
Consider the Boker/Burnley Kwaiken folder too.

I loved the look of that one as well. The only thing that turned me off was the placement of the thumb disk. It looks like it may be a bit of an issue to access it with the handle where it is. Perhaps a dremel will help that. :)

That's my only concern with this one. It looks like the thumb bar(?) is placed relative to the pivot just like a Benchmade 940, but with a 940, the easiest way to open it is to press it where the short side of the thumb bar is on this one. I suspect it would be better with a round stud.

Don't know if that's really clear, so here is a pic how the 940's stud gets pressed:

Now the same arrow on this knife:

Of course this is all based on the vid and not actually holding the knife, so I could be wrong.

Any idea when this is coming out?

I bet Boker addresses the thumb slide in the second run of the Boker/Burnley Kwaiken. Yea, get the Dremel out.
I like this Hissatsu the best. A 3" blade version would be nice also.

The issue is not really where it is in relation to the pivot for me as much as how little distance or ramping there is from the handle. The Boker looks like it may not leave much room for me to get my thumb to the disc.

We should hope so.

Not a fan, personally. I like the idea a lot (Japanese inspired tactical folder), but thee is far too much writing on the blade, and the whole thing looks overly mechanical (and a little mall ninja too). Glad I picked up the Boker/Burnley instead.

This is interesting, I'd like to see what else CRKT is going to come out with next year. I assume it is a 2013 offering?

Yeah - it is one of the knives for 2013 shot show.

Not very elegant, but powefull.

4.75" blade. Jesus that is mean. I'm also really loving knives that have their blades entirely enclosed in the handle when closed.

Love the Hissatsu...now I'll need one of these.
Anyone carrying the smaller version part serrated?

I'll be honest, this looks like a single-purpose tool - homocide... I guess that that is the point.

I've carried the Hissatsu and a Cold Steel Kubotan while doing event security...The former has only seen use cutting down banners for fans after the show...The Kubotan has a very calming effect on over zealous Mosh Pit stompers.
