The Other You

Yes it would work, you need another pistol and holster though as most matches require 2. My daughter uses blackhawks for her competition guns, with a marlin 1894 and a original winchester 1897. Ask me any questions you like I'm always glad to help.

Triple K is offering a crossdraw that fits the rig as well, just need the extra pistol Pistol. Was going to crossdraw a Ruger Single 9 in 22/22mag conversion as well for backpacking hunts.

Sweet gear you got there...Lots of great pics in this thread.

Dave,

What are those stainless Ruger's? Do you have an un-holstered photo? Also, are they custom grips or factory? They look quite nice.

Thanks

AJ

I took a quick pic for you, its a matched pair of 44/40s. They started out as standard plow handled 44/40 and one 44mag, I happened to find a 44/40 cylinder that a friend had with no gun to go with it and fitted it to the 44mag, corrected the cylinder throats at the same time. Then I traded the plow grips and hammers for a set of stainless bisley handles and hammers, did slick action jobs on them, free spin pawls, chamfered the leading edge of the cylinder to holster better, changed to belt mountain locking base pins, and last sanded down some stock ruger grips a bit thiner. Gave them a brushed satin finish and have run about 50k through each one.

I had this likeness made up a while back. It doesn't look exactly like me but it is a pretty good likeness.

Thank you for the kind words good sir. I do what I can! I spend 60 hours a week working 6/7 days with special needs kids. While their progress is often slow -- it makes a world of a difference for parents who have never heard their own child say "I love you" or who have never had their child be able to ride a bike. My line of work makes you appreciate the little things in life.

I bet it does. It is so easy to take seemingly "routine" things in life and take them for granted. Unless you subject yourself to other experiences, it is sometimes difficult to gain those perspectives.
I could only imagine how appreciative the parents are for helping their children. It is amazing that you are able to go to work and get that feeling. Most people have not worked themselves into a position where they can support themselves financially, and more importantly, make a significant positive change in the lives of many-- congratulations :)

Man am I jealous of all you guys in whitetail country!! Nothing but blacktail here in my part of California. Here's one I got last season (I'm in the middle)....
