The Parliament Of The Olamic Owls Is Now In Session

Bob I am trying to save up for a knife from the Atlanta show. But I am glad to get a bolster lock Whipper. When Olamic stopped the whipper I figured it would be a long wait. I really try not to get multiples of the same knife but in this case I made an exception again. I do have two Para 3’s which is another favorite knife.

Rufus that recon stone looks great. I also like the jigged handles. I think traditional covers like that go good with modern looking knife like this.
 
Good luck with Atlanta...wish I could be there. Yours will be a unique whipper. I am trying to get them to build me an Ironwood and mokumi bolster whip.

Lol! I tossed that idea Eugene's way myself. I think I've decided to go a different route with the ironwood though. :)

Take a look at fedokume... I might work better in some applications.
Ask them about it.
 
Rufus I’m just looking forward to the knives that become available after shows. I’d like to go to a blade show though. I have been picking up slipjoints lately. I was thinking of getting a non traditional knife since it’s been awhile. This whip might be it. I am liking tacticol knives that look like slipjoints. I have a Zinker with mammoth covers I like. I like his builds. And I like top/front flippers. I still gotta get a 247. Lots of choices if Bob doesn’t buy all the knives. I know he wants to.

I really like the Zinkers...I have to spread my wings and try other makers.
I agree Bob pushes back our lead time by months.😁
 
I felt what that one person(in different thread) was talking about on my new whipper. It's a very sharp edge but a piece of 1000 grit paper takes it right out and you really have to be rubbing your hand all around it to feel the edge.

I have so much less time than you...so Eugene should move my build times up. I may mention that to him.

Ilya told me they are only doing ti bolsters right now...that eliminated the mokumi for me. I'm thinking ironwood and polished bolster to emulate an old barlow.
 
I'll have to start getting the Missus to take in laundry, and take up babysitting again...
