Count me in!

Oh, by the way TAH TAH , would it be alright if I use the "Finding paths since 1947" logo you came up with in my signature here and on other various forms?

Welcome Wood Splitter! That's a beautiful photograph. Yes, feel free to use the Pathfinder logo as you please. It's part of your membership. :)

I received this little beauty today. Does this count?

Welcome Tecate! That red beauty definitely counts!

I’ fairly new here but you people are having so much fun that I decided to apply for membership if there is still room left (LOL?) I currently own two pathfinders, my dads old 105 which I bought for him in the late 60’s or early 70’s, a new one which I received recently, both with black phenolic handles. Used the new one yesterday to slice a small roast my wife cooked and as a dinner knife. She commented on the knife and seemed to be impressed by it. Her birthday is this coming Saturday and not having bought a present for her yet and having no idea what to get her (as usual) I came up with a rare brainstorm. Yep, I just ordered a new 105 with cocobola handle. Should be here tomorow or next day. Worst case scenario is she won’t want it and I will have to keep it myself and just give her some cash. Not the best plan I ever had but so far I’m comfortable with it. So do I qualify for membership?

Now, I don't have any authority here being just an ordinary member so this is just "spitballin'", but I would think this would qualify for some sort of special two-for-one family membership rate. ;)

That's the best plan I've ever heard of! :D

Welcome Stuffer! You most certainly qualify for membership. Be sure to "Like" my post #333 to enter the raffle. If your wife decides to keep her cocobolo 105, hope she signs up and joins the Pathfinder Club too! :)

Lol, good luck with that. Like your planning though.

OH, I haven't taken a Ruddy in a long time. Do you prepare them whole? A good photo. DM

David, the Ruddy doesn’t sit real high on the delectable duck meat chart so I use them (cubed) in a waterfowl stew. I find that the best way to cook, serve, and eat saltwater ducks is to keep the meat wet in cooking and serving. Going to try a soup the next time I shoot some. OH

Ace, we posted minutes apart, so I didn't see your post until now. To keep it fair for all, Mrs. Stuffer will need to create a BladeForums account and make a post in this thread. No photo proof is required, just a simple, "I am now the proud owner of a beautiful cocobolo 105 thanks to my wonderful and thoughtful husband, who I will continue to support in all of his future purchases of Buck Knives." :)

You owe me one, Stuffer. ;) :D

Wow, I’m glad you guys have this all figured out for me. Somehow I don’t see it playing out exactly like that though. The knife should be here sometime today. She is leaving to visit our daughter in the Midwest on her Birthday in a few days so I will give her the knife today so she can decide if she wants it or cash. She will probably want the cash for the trip knowing the knife will be here if she wants to use it in the future anyway. I will update after the “event” happens. Thanks for the support.

OK, the knife came while wife was in town so I took it out to “inspect it. I must own close to 50 knives in my shop between my Buck, Mora, Dexter Russell and my Taxidermy knives but have never purchased a knife in my life because it was pretty, only functional. As soon as I took this knife out of the box I knew I wanted it because of it’s looks. Wife got home and I gave her the offer of the knife or cash for the her upcoming trip. I was delighted when she chose the cash. Now I have to deal with the guilt of feeling that “I “got a beautiful new knife for “My Wife’s birthday. I”m already trying to decide which knife to get her for Christmas. I guess the guilty feeling has passed. End of story (Finally).

Lol, sounds like you've got the affliction. No reason a functional knife can't be pretty, life's to short for ugly knives.

Time for me to join your 105 club. I have a few of them in my pile.

JB

Welcome JB! Got stag? Those are *really* nice!

“Plain, old and regular” sounds like your describing me, not a knife. Looks like it’s up to doing the same job as a “New Fancy and Shiny” one will and may have some experience behind it too. Nice knife. Keep enjoying it.
