The Pathfinder Club - Members Only!

Historically I've used shorter sheath knives (4 - 4 1/2") for dressing out deer, so I'll see how I like this new Pathfinder for hunting..

I too preffered much shorter blades with a drop point. The 112 drop point and Grohmann No1 have been my long time favorites, and I still found the 105 to be far easyer to use than its specs/ appearance would suggest. I dont know that it would be my top suggestion for a new hunter, but any experienced hand shouldnt have any trouble.

All I can say is that the folks at Buck did a hell of a job designing that tip, much nicer to work with than any clip or trailing point I've used. Requires a bit more consideration than a drop point, but far easyer to work with than you would think.

I hemmed and hawed over purchasing the PRO version, but given that the 105 has grown on me so much and that they are being discontinued this year I finally made up my mind and ordered one. Should have a moose tag next year, so I'll hopefully be able to give that s35vn a proper test.

Is just the pro series being discontinued or are all the 105’s being discontinued??

Buck discontinued all the Pro series knives.
There's a few dealers that still have stock available tho.

I think it's a matter of time before Buck brings back a Magnacut version.

I liked the micarta handles.

Ok thank you. I was just double checking to make sure it was just the Pro line and not the Heritage 105 also. 👍

The Heritage line has not been discontinued to the best of my knowlege, but it has been downgraded I think. They still have the wooden handle, but the blade is now 420hc instead of D2.
