The Peanut Class of knife.

I did my own peanut test, described here. In spite of that I love peanuts, but almost always carry one as a second knife.

A whole thread of peanut love is here, as well.
I love small knives and really really would like to be a peanut user, but that's just not going to happen until I can score a good vintage example because I just can't stand the canted blade or nail nick position of the current peanuts main blade.
Both of these things are purely cosmetic visual concerns, but they're things I just could not look past no matter how hard I tried.

Exclusing the Barlows, and sub 85mm SAK's my sub 3.5 inch "Peanut Class" knives:
KaBar 1081 Stockman. (3 .25" closed (+/- 1/32")
MIKOV "Fish Knife" (2 7/8" closed end of fin to snout. 3 1/8" including tab for split ring.) (both measurements +/- 1/32 inch.)
CASE Carhart 63087 Stockman (about +/- 1/32" same size as the KaBar.)
(Sorry. I don't have a caliper for precise measurements. Just 4 steel rules.)

While a "good knife is carried often but forgotten until needed ..."
I may be (probably am 😇) "strange" in that I can "forget"/not notice two 3.625 inch to 4.25 inch closed knives in the same pocket.
(after 64 or so years of carrying such I got "used" to it? ... tho I do pat my pocket from time to time to make sure they are still there ... 🙄)

When I carry a small knife I get strange looks for patting my pocket every 3 to 5 minutes. 🤨👎

I am aware ether of these stockmans (or my Case 3318 stockman) could probably handle most - if not all - of my weekly knife tasks.
I still prefer a 3 7/8 to 4 5/8 inch closed stockman or Moose, and a 3.652 inch Canoe.
A Buck 110 or Old Timer 7OT, or a 5.25 inch two blade folding hunter on my belt, with or without a large stockman, moose or Canoe is still not out of the realm of possibility.

I may add the Mikov Fish Knife to me carry today. Stick it on the keyring with the SAK's & Flashlight/Torch. 🤔😁

Here are a few to add to the thread. I posted the Ohtas some years ago, but PhotoBarf-it did their dirty deed, so here they are again.

I got this Kabar when I was about 10. The price was reduced because the kick was too short and the nail nick was inaccessible. My handle mod is rather savage, but I was just a kid.

Not a thing wrong with that handle modification, not to my eyes anyway.

I love the concept of peanuts, but my fingers are too thug-like to enjoy them!!
Tony Bose made a small knife, and vowed he'd never make another!! R.I.P.
