I'm a proud member of the Cult of the Peanut, but usually I like something with a little more meat on its bones. I've decided the GEC Pemberton is my ideal EDC. Who else likes 'em?
I am the same, I own and carry Peanuts about 45% of the time, my 2012 forum knife 10% and my Stag 2 blade Pemberton the remaining 45%. I really love the meat if the main blade and the extra girth of the handle. I doubt I will every be without one (I own a backup) or one of my Peanuts. Steven
I am a big fan of the mighty Pemberton. I have had both the two bladed Un-X-Ld version, as well as the single bladed Tidioute (pictured). Sold the single blade as the two blade version hit the sweet spot for me. It is with me every day, paired with one of several others in the rotation. Just several shots....
Here paired with a Böker medium stockman....btw...nice pairing!
I have a two bladed stag version. Love it, except that the nick on the main blade should be on the opposite side! I cut my nails really short, so it takes a few days before I'm able to open it up easily again.
I, Carl, Grand High Muckba Of The Cult Of The Peanut, is a closet member of the Pemberton Appreciation Society.
Late at night, when nobody is looking, I browse the GEC factory site, looking at the Pemberton. I fantasize over a nice slim single blade model with a stag handle. Or maybe a nice ebony scaled one. Afterward I feel like I've been cheating by looking at other small peanut size knives. Like I've been lusting after another that I've sworn to. I feel that the days are numbered until I too have a Pemberton in a pocket.
I like this mini resurgence of interest in the Pemberton. There was a lot of chatter about them when they were first released, but it died down relatively quickly. Here's an older pic fresh out of the tube. Just to add... the fit & finish on the three I have had was top notch. Consider this another nudge to those sitting on the fence.
