The perfect folder?

I recently received a ZT 562cf on trade. I really never wanted a flipper, but I figured why not give this on a shot. When the knife came, I opened it a found a knife that contoured my hand, and reminded me of the fixed blades I I like to carry. A beautiful design with a blade shape that is functional in almost every situation. In the last couple of days I have found myself carrying this knife as my primary. And if I was stuck with only one knife, I dare to say that this is it. Is this just a new infatuation that will pass? I have tried to find flaws, and can only find very minimal issues. Has anyone else found that one knife that seems nearly perfect? If so, what are the models and reasons? I am afraid that I have found a design new to me that I am going to focus and go broke on!

I love my 0562cf and 0562. Dare I say if the 0566cf was titanium instead of stainless steel and had bearings it would probably give the 0562cf a run for its money as the perfect edc knife.

The reason I haven't used my voucher for a new ZT yet is because I can't decide if I want a 562CF or 452CF. Bleh.

I can tell you that the 562 is a fine piece of craftsmanship. You wouldn't be disappointed

The 0562 is very good knife, I like the attention ZT put in the details on it
Even the weight has been kept at an acceptable level ;)

However for me the ergonomics don't work, I am not comfortable with the grip and I would have préfères it not to have the grooves on the handles as they get in the way when I handle it with my medium size hand
Another default for me is the grind of the blade which doesn't make it a great slicer

But again that is very personal and even with these issues for me I still have it in my collection as everything else is so great ;)

Just out of curiosity, which knife in your collection is your "top"? Reason I ask is because mine always seems to change

Is the cf slippery? Carbon fiber to me is usually slippery. I'd rather have the reg 562 with G10.

I'm glad you are happy.

I've been very pleased with my latest, Rat 1 in D2 for $41.

Mine has changed too
I have mainly used SAK before getting into "real knives"
My first was a ZT0350 and I have been in flippers for some times
In this category, IMHO the 0350 is the best user, the 0801 has the best action and the 0562 the best design but has I got my 0550 I started to get interest in manual folders
Full size dirt and now smaller and lighter knives
At the moment I would say my small Inkosi is my top.... at least it the one that has the most pocket time

Long story short I started with heavy flippers to end with small and light manual folders

I don't find it slippery, but then again I haven't had it dressing out a deer yet, either! I'm going to check out that rat 1

Time will tell how it goes. I began with benchmade griptillians, then went with spyderco, and now ZT. I still have all those knives, and still carry them from time to time. And I always find myself carrying a spyderco model daily as a worker. I'm going to look at the knives you mentioned. I'm sure at least one of those models will find its way into my collection!

The 0801 is reallly something to try
The new design ZT has just released has a new design for the handle that looks much better than the original one IMO
If they offer it in the full black or blackwash version in the future I will take one

The 045x family is also very interesting
Shouldn't I have a BM940 it will have been in my collection
The 0450cf is really looking great

At the
Moment the keepers I have in my collection:
BM doug ritter mini grip with custom micarta scales
BM doug ritter Griptilian with custom CF scales
BM 940-1

ZT0801bw
SG spider monkey
CRK small Inkosi silver hardware
CRK large Inkosi KA version
CRK small insingo with micarta inlays
CRK large sebenza 21 silver hardware and Damascus

In my collection but that I will sold sooner or latter:

Extrema Ratio BF1CT
ZT0562cf
Spyderco PM2 black blade with vintage black micarta scales

I also have a ZT0801blk and a ZT0550 gen.3 with anso CF scale ... but these ones will be difficult to sell ;)

Nice collection! I have a few of those, and see a few I will get. I am working on getting a bm 940. And I agree, that ZT 450 is very nice.

At the moment the Ines I carry most are the small Inkosi and the Delica 4 during the week when at the office
During the week end it is mainly the large Inkosi, the 0801bw and the large griptilian

I actually found a spyderco delica 4 about a month ago that is pretty beat up. I have restored it best I can and it is in my pocket every day for opening boxes and cutting the things I probably shouldn't. It definitely gets the most use.

Th le same for me, the Delica 4 see a lot of use in EDC tasks and as it doesn't cost too much I don't mind damaging it

I actually found a delica 4 about a month ago and it was trashed. I restored it best that I could and I carry it everyday for the task I don't want to use my other knives on. It definitely gets the most use.
