IMHO, it would be a Benchmade 710, M-4 at HRc 64-65, no clip, "pocket knife" carry, and no thumbstuds, just wrist flicking to open. It would come from the factory with a true shaving edge.:)

S90V would also work for me.:p

What's your pefect "pocket knife?"

Pefect pocket knife that, like your's, doesn't exist in modern production:

Equal-end pen knife (aka Senator pattern), old-school carbon steel, MOP handles.

A carbon Opinel with a (preferably brass-lined) plastic handle. Upsets no one when seen, thin convex grind outcuts a huge percentage of knives, takes no time to sharpen, no bacterial retention or wood deformation if you drop it in liquids once in a while.

Does anyone know if anyone makes one :(?

There actually did used to be a plastic-handled knife with an Opinel-like locking ring. I don't recall exactly, but it may have been a kershaw.

Otherwise, it's easy enough to 'fix' the Opinel.

Why would you want a "perfect" pocket knife? That means just one and all others are inferior... :D

I have a few ones that are ususally perfect for my mood... But always need a couple more...

The perfect pocketknife doesn't exist, but I've found that my Sebenza Meltdown or Benchmade 940TI have been in my pocket the most lately. They do everything I need.

I'd like to see a Buck 503 with rosewood scales, SS bolsters and a carbon steel blade. Of course, I'm pretty happy with my micarta scaled 440c 503 :D.

Or how about an alox Victorinox kinda like the Soldier, but with a small blade in place of the awl, and S30V (or VG-10... or hell just good old carbon) blades.

Well this one ain't perfect, but it's what I'm looking for and cannot find.

2" blade
thumbstud open - (thumbstud will have to be removable for sharpening.)
AUS8, 440C, VG1, VG10, AUS 10, or 154CM blade
Pocket clip
Lockback
modified drop point.

I can find knives with two or three of my wants, but not all.

I believe that was the Cold Steel Twistmaster?
Some may still be had via ebay.

I might be wrong, but I thought the Twistmaster only came in some huge 5" blade size? That's not much of a "pocket" knife...

If that's the case, then the Twistmaster is not the same knife I was thinking of.

Manix with RC61 Vascowear
E4 with RC61-62 super blue carbon steel
Millie with CPM M4 HSS
" " " " CPM S90V
SOG Tomcat 3 with CPM Rex 121 HSS at RC 65 , or CPM S125V
Kershaw Blur with 20CV

Caly3 is the perfect pocket knife as is, also C-83 Persian with full flat grind would be a perfect (and cocobolo handle)

An INFI Sebenza with snakeskin micarta inlays would be pretty close to perfect

Perfect pocket knife??? Haven`t found it yet, but still looking. Gilles of France makes a great knife, I have had one in my pocket for about four months now, and I just love it.
