What genius puts a finger choil on a knife with a huge pie-shaped handle?

They put choils on the knife for detail work. Your picture shows what true genius looks like. It looks like you can get REALLY detailed work going on.

Same edge bevel as factory. So what? Most people including myself, do sharpen new knives of any brand.

And many people dont. But if you are going to say striders cut well your proof should be a knife with a factory edge. And you would do that because ANY knife you refine the edge on will cut better than it did previous to that work you did. When people say a knife is good they are usually refering to it as it comes from the factory. Not after you improve its performance. Would you say a butter knife is a great slicer? Probably not until after you sharpen it. Just like in the video.

But what is it that you really hate, the knives or just the concept of having them. Even ugly, useless knives need love. What would the middle class mall ninjas have to play with if not for the ugly, useless knives.

Is there a light duty category where the knife only has to be strong enough to cut room temp butter, I didn't notice but I'm sure this example was posted.

Exactly.

I won't disagree about Mick Burger being dishonest, but the knives aren't nearly as bad as it's popular here to make them out to be. I avoided them for years because of bad reviews. When I finally did buy one out of curiosity mainly, I was surprised it came so tightly fitted, razor sharp and overall with very good fit and finish.

Mr. Jackson.

You haven't learned that leaving your mind at home when entering these threads is the only way to go?

There are experts here who know everything about what a knife is (or should be) and even who the good and bad people are in the industry.
They are more than ready to convince you of what you need/like/want because they know everything about you. Just sit back and follow the story lines, agree with the group (that's important) and feel really sh*tty if for a moment you may like anything about a knife they do not approve of.

Real knives slice tomatoes without said tomatoes losing any juice - let this be your new motto.

Oh, just to simplify;

You may end up with a bunch of knives you don't really like, but hey, you get to be a part of the group.

Now that sounds like a win-win to me....

Not nearly, I haven't gotten into a drunken fight/argument that ended in crying with a single family member yet. ;)

But it's almost at that point in here! :D
And all because someone asked about knives people don't like (when will they learn ;) ).

Dunno, this season makes me ornery, so I kind of like it. Also, all the knives you like are aesthetic abominations and all the knives I like are artistic masterpieces of slicing efficiency. The knives we both like are probably okay. :p
