the problem with selling HI on a forum

Exactly. HI sort of both falls on both sides of the production and custom fence. Are the one of kind, special ordered, and embossed khuks custom? I would think so as it was made CUSTOM for someone. However, the standard blades are "cranked" out at a few complete knives a day (last I heard). While they are hand crafted, I doubt that they would be considered "custom". The closest things I have to custom knives are the special run khuks. However, I would think most people browsing the custom forum are looking for special, one of a kind or numbered, "perfect" knives for collection purposes.

That brings it back full circle... then not production not custom but still they are unique

One thing you can say is a least this has been an active discussion

Is this your definition of "custom", or the management's? (Yes, it's an important distinction.)

From what I understand Blade Forums is trying to decide this now.

The reason I say they are customs is that 1, they are hand forged, this is from their site.

HAND-FORGED KHUKURIS BY THE FINEST CRAFTSMEN IN NEPAL

2) Is that everything you read says to expect your knife to be slightly different from what you ordered as each Kami has their own style.

3) No 2 Khuks are the exact same as they are all individually handcrafted and the soal of the blade determines the final outcome.

So to answer your question it is my definition I was using based on available material posted by HI itself on its website and here.

This has already been answered by Cougar in the other thread, post them in custom.

Berk had a good point... What does Yangdu say? I'll pull all of my support if it hurts Yangdu. She's at the helm as far as I'm concerned.
