THE Project has begun.

Evolute, thanks for your input.
BTW, everyone, Fan of Steel has let me know that there may be guarantee issues. I kind of laughed at that, because I would never claim any kind of a defect on a customized knife, that's just the kind of guy I am.
THANKS everyone. Any more?

This is like INFI Monster Garage!

Can't wait to see pics.
man, i was about to make the same reference. me and dk8558 were talking about this thread today and neither one of us could figure out why this is even up for debate. this is no different than someone pimping their knife or someone chopping or hot rodding their car or motorcycle. i cant wait to see it.

YOWZA!!!

Sounds like a cool idea to me!

I do appreciate those who weighed in and expressed their concern on our behalf. We have had several problems in the past with customers who had purchased modified Busses and who were under the impression that we had made the modifications. There's never any intent by the person who initially makes the modifications or by the customer who has the work done, but 8 years later and 5 owners down the line. . ta da! No big deal though. It's just part of the game.

I'm anxious to see the end results!!! Post those pics ASAP!!!!

Yours in Nuclear Pimped INFI,

Jerry

Iam not sure it will even work with the AD, were still talking about it. I kind of wish we could do it with a larger thicker model, I have never really been into the smaller folder's. Is there a production or semi production line we could try this with first or is the Infi blade steel only used for the custom knives? I'll keep reading your thoughts on this, look forward to your comments.
Matt :)

FOLDING JACK!!!!

Nice work Matt. If you're looking for other options, a Mean Street might make a good base - very similar to the AD, with a longer blade and bit thicker stock. If phase 1 goes well, maybe you can mod one of Dark Nemesis's Off Dutys - these are a very limited release of the Active Duty pattern, but thicker than any knife has reason to be.

Slow down ther and lets think this thing through...My Off Duties are inferior to Skunk's....his would be MUCH better than mine for this type of project :D

I was looking thru my knives at the blade sizes and it looked like the older Mean Street was too small, either the newer Meaner Street or a BAIII with a recurved blade looked to be better, I don't have a 4" PBF to compare. I would definately leave the talon hole on, as it maybe could be used as a flipper or at minimum a finger guard. I think a frame lock would be cool, using titanium sides, maybe flamed. Keep us posted.

We are currently discussing the idea of using a flipper.
BTW, a 4" PBF is 1/4" thick.
.
As far as heating the titanium goes, I don't know.
I really the smooth Ti look and Fizz Matt uses.
Also I really like the idea of have a fizz infinity symbol on the front, as a tribute to Jerry and INFI (however, I'm still open to suggestions)

Ok, you're inspiring me. Although I will probably ask for a femail skunk etching as a tribute to Mrs. Skunk :D

Can you send me his email address?

BECAUSE IT'S INFI!!!!!
and too add a couple more words.
I really think that I have to go with the thinner, smaller blade.
that's just the kind of guy I am.
I've owned bigger folders, but I usually resort to carrying a smaller knife,
and if I going to spend a bit on a folder like that, I'll want to carry it a lot.
Bigger knives feel uncomfortable to me after being carried a while.

If you didn't know, besides the thickness and makeup (steel), the AD and the Large Classic Sebbie are almost identical in shape and profile as far as the blade goes. This will give you an idea as to size

If Matt (or you), wants something larger, I'd suggest a BAIII, or even a BA-E. That would be a bit humongous though. A large Sebbie with a thicker INFI blade would suit me just fine.

I don't care for the blade shape of the 4"PBF, but that's just me. Chunky though .... I had the whole set. Just too pointy for my taste.

Go for it!

Rob
