It only takes one trip where you drop your knife or leave it in a tree when it gets dark to realize that black and green blends in too much!

I've pretty much done the same only with bright orange paracord. I left my M2000 behind in the woods twice last year. Fortunately I knew where to find it, and it was still there. It was overnight both times. I've got orange paracord or a stripe of orange duct tape on almost everything now.

I also use orange too, but I'd like to try some of them neon colors and some glow in the dark para chord. Nice job BD, red is pretty visible!

Thanks I like orange too but in the fall it blends too much. Once the orange gets dirty it can look like twigs on the ground. Red is hard to miss and not as common which is why I like it more.

You're dead right, but I hate it when the bright coloured lanyards pick up dirt, which they do - especially the orange. I must give red a try.

I've always favored bright blue since it's a color not found in the woods. While others may blend in with bright fall colors the blue always stands out.

Super bear , I like the idea of red ,is red paracord available ? all I seem to find is black, OD , tan... at my local stores , Bass pro ,Cabella's, cheaper than dirt , ETC....

texastonydobbs: I have seen some on ebay when I was looking for some myself. I think they even come in bright green and pink.

Great pic Bear. I do the same thing with my GB axes. There have been times then it's stuck in a tree, and I have looked for hours before finding it.

Now I staple a piece of red or orange vinyl tape to the bottom. Works great.

Most of mine are either neon orange or neon yellow. There have been way too many times that I'ves stuck it in a tree (the knife that is) or sat it down somewhere and then all of a sudden I couldn't see it anymore and had to look around for my knife.

I seem to leave my machete where I was chopping/splitting wood. It is also a saftey concern to leave your blades out with people walking around camp or other hikers in the area. RED lets everyone know there is a cutting tool there so they don't walk into the blade.

Red shoelaces from the dollar store.

I passed on yellow becouse there are lots of yellow plants and vines in the jungle.

If you have ever been to Stromdrane's blog, he makes some awesome lanyard, he has found some glow in the dark cord. It could be handy. Pat

I like bright blue, neon orange and have also used orange with reflective tape running through it.
