The Red Lanyard

Blue is another good choice. For the desert I might try some reflective stuff since in the day the sun will illuminate it and at nigh the moon.
 
You can buy all different colors of climber's utility cord. Very strong stuff as well. Thats what I use on my blades. Its bright blue with a highly reflective thread woven into the casing. Very visible during daytime, and lights up like a city skyline at night if you shine a flashlight over it. Very good for finding misplaced tools at night or in dark spots (like under a house, etc...)

Yes, I also use red 550 for my lanyards.

I went with Red handles on a: BRK&T Woodland SPL., a Busse GW and a Leu Kozuka. YOWZAH!

I buy pink bic lighters for this, no one will pocket them and if they do it is easy to tell if it is yours.

LOL :D Good idea, but I just can't carry anything pink :p I have a kydex holder for my Bic ,sounds alittle overboard but I carry it around my neck or clipped to my pack,and I nobody I have camped with or met along the way has hada kydex for a Bic so far and to replace the bic you'll need and multi-tool due to the tight fit.:thumbup: I am off to the dollars store for Red shoe laces !
