The REK Knives Random Talk Thread

Well everything was just relaxing after a crazy day at work. I was just sitting in my apartment minding my own business and all of a sudden my phone makes a noise. I look at it and its an email from REK announcing this Reblade nonsense! Of course I had to read it in its entirety (well kinda, it was rather lengthy) and of course had to put in an order. Just when I thought everything had calmed down the shenanigans started all over again. I can never get any peace.


Of course this is all in sarcasm Blues Blues . LOL I have really been looking at Josh's reblades and WOW. He stated earlier that he was planning on doing the shaman ones and while I like those that knife is a little fat. I said to myself I wonder if he will ever do the 940 again and BAM there it was. Thanks REK Knives REK Knives for reading my mind. A question to those in the know. His email stated for the 940 it couldn't have backspacers.......... I'm dumb so if I buy a basic 940 like the green aluminum scale one is that good to go?

And yes I ordered one immediately. It also had an option about hand rubbed..............I just put in the notes "Josh surprise me and it will look good"

I'm always willing to serve 😂 I know I texted you already but for others sake, you will need the 940-1/2 models, not the old school green handle.
 
I know Josh knows, but for others...you can use the liners from the old school green 940, you just need aftermarket scales, and then to swap the backspacer-thing for standoffs. I see a lot of these reblades with aftermarket scales anyway, so we are just talking about procuring standoffs (and possibly hardwear), which are available from a few places. Long story short, if you have a green 940 sitting around with a new set of scales waiting for a reblade, it will be cheaper to procure the standoffs than a different 940.

Josh is, of course, the authority here. So if there are other reasons for not using that version of the 940, please ignore me and defer to him.
