Mike

R1823 I think, very nice old Remington Mike.

This little four blade Remington congress was given to me by my nephew, who found it among his deceased father's effects and we assume it originally belonged to his father, who owned a general store in Guin, Alabama.

Whether or not he ever sold Remington knives in his store, we do not know.

I know I'm pleased to own it.

Exceptional on so may levels, Charlie! It would be so cool to find that one in an old catalog

Incredible knife Charlie. Great collection Jamie, and I also really like the muskrat in this thread.

scattershot, do you know the pattern number of that gorgeous knife? I would like to try to find one.

Thanks.

Gevo - did you remove these from my Boker cabinet ? I need to look I reckon !!! BEAUTIFUL bone my friend ! ;):thumbup::D

Everybody else - lots of fine Remingtons being shown !!!:)

I only wish i could look in your cabinets! Maybe someday my friend. Thanks for the compliment!

Without digging it out and looking, I'm pretty sure the pattern number on my little four blade congress is R6933, which is confusing, as that's the same number for a bone handled two blade with the same handle-die shape.

The master blade is not etched and I'm pretty sure it left the factory that way.

A member on my Slipjoint Addict group mentioned German made Remingtons?

The timeline is

Remington 1920s to 1930s
PAL picking up from 1930s to 1940s with leftover parts
German Remingtons in the 70s?
Camillus Remingtons 1980s to 2000s
Bear 2000s to present

Please correct me if wrong, and if you have exact dates, please provide them. I'm going to look in my Remington book when I get home.
