The Sardinian connection.

Nice to hear from you, J-M, and that you are OK!!!
It is a global tragedy!! We, too are safe, but a similar condition is happening here!!
Nearly 300 forest fires here in B.C. with some small towns destroyed, and several at risk!!
I've heard this . It's actually a disaster . But I would also like to see it as an opportunity for our and the next generations to transform positively the planet . What a great project !!!!
Technologically it has never been so possible 💪🦾 .

Is there an American retailer that sells these style knives?
I'm pretty certain the answer is NO. There is a Sardinia Knives.com site exporting out of Italy. Mine came directly from the makers, who, by the way, are gracious and happy to communicate with BF members through email.

I'm sure that the best production is not the one which is exported. As Ray said it feel free to send a mail so the makers. If necessary they will use google translate . If you need explanations, translations, advises I can help and now Ray is a real specialist 😊

I bought one of mine from a old hardware shop down a side street without tourists.
They had display cases of very old knifes with the makers names.
I tried to buy an old one but quite rightly they weren't for sale

I had one similar to that but decided I liked my black one best.

Have you been to Sardinia?

I first went to Nuoro I did not know the history, everyone was very friendly to me.

Maybe I looked to poor or my ears where all wrong,I did meet one of the bad boys of Nuoro he was friendly but I wouldn't want to cross him or his wife..

"between the late 1960s and the late 1990s, a period in which hundreds of citizens were abducted and held by Sardinian banditry"

This is a special Pattada; to me, and in general!! It is a gift, and was presented to me while visiting Paris!! Âchillepattada Âchillepattada and his family brought Joanne and I to a wonderful family-style Restaurant, and this knife was plunked down beside my plate, to cut my Duck L'Orange!! A wonderful welcoming gesture!
A special knife indeed, made by a Sardinian Master, Roberto Serra!! Unusually, it has a half-stop and a backspring, unlike the usual Friction-Folder Pattada!
Thanks again J-M for a wonderful welcome!!First Serra Gift 1.jpgFirst Serra Gift 2.jpg
