The Sardinian connection.

Not to make this a zombie thread, but wanted to tap into the collective wisdom of this group. I have a pattada I picked up last spring where I had to tighten the pivot a bit when I received it, however, it seems that over the course of the long cold and dry winter (I live in the northern mid-west of the United States) the pivot has become very loose - almost free swinging. I have tried re-tapping the pivot and it doesn't seem to improve in any meaningful way. I am wondering if this is a common occurrence in colder climates and if there are any known ways to adjust the pivot tension short of trying to send back to Sardinia. Thanks all.

I have two of these, and mine loosen and tighten depending on the season.

I thought you might like to see some photos from Sardinia to put the knives into context.

Mine came from Nuoro which had a bit of a reputation for kidnapping back in the day, though I wasn't aware of it at the time.

The tattoo is from a rather tough looking chap who's wife served me ice cream (he came out from the back when hearing me talk) in Nuoro I am told its Sardinian and means Sardinian Rascal.

The graffiti was also in Nuoro,I was maybe the only tourist but never felt threatened, everyone was very friendly.

The croissant and coffee was the best ever, the time on my watch is when I came in from a night out in the capital.

I was passed from group to group to be looked after and shown some great bars,at the end of the night a couple and another lass walked me home.

The bar man at the last cafe (for students) said he would make me a special cocktail if I liked, it was so strong and large I didnt need any more drinks that night.

One of the best nights in Europe, ever.

I used my knife the first time in between stops sat on a wall on a back road sampling local produce,I always try to do that when I buy a knife on my travels.

On the way back to the ferry when I saw the colour of the sea (which was very warm) it was very hard to leave if you go in September less tourists and the sun has warmed the sea.

One of the best nights in Europe, ever.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Johnny!! ;)

A gift from J-M, I used this knife to eat my duck dinner in Paris - an unconventional take on the Pattada from Roberto Serra - it has a backspring!! Can I still call it a Pattada?? Thanks again for the wonderful gift, Âchillepattada Âchillepattada !!Mouflon Pattada 3.jpg!!Mouflon Pattada 2.jpg

Hello Charlie, a knife has to find his right pocket and this one found the perfect one. So I think we can call it "Sardinian Jack" :)
