The Sebenza 25 has arrived! (pic heavy)

Well I've currently got band aids on 4 fingers on my right hand thanks to my 25!

Yesterday I was tying a lanyard on the closed knife. I was tightening the knot when I gripped the still closed knife hard as I was pulling the lanyard tight to finish the knot. Well it was then I felt the sting as the blade bit three fingers through the open spine of the handle. Not too much blood but I have tied lanyards on maybe a hundred knives and not been bit like that before.

Then later on I was closing the knife after use and cut the tip of my thumb clean off cause it was still on the lock when the blade closed and acted like a guillotine on the tip.

One things for sure, the 25 is super sharp!

Now u r 1 with ur knife! Lol

Hope it wasn't bad

ooh that dident sound good at all Biginboca :S i guess we have floppy skin that sneaks into the crack alittle better than others ;) after reading the thread about the Zaan i accually tried to get cut with mine (no luck) but this one got me good ;) so i compared them and yeah the 25s edge is much closer to the spine than the Zaan. i got a fix for it tho ;) Duct Tape! hah naah but it would look funny tho duct taped spines on the 25s all around ;)

I guess I must have pretty skinny hands. Tried it with a P Sebenza, Startac Zaan, Annual Seb, Mnandi and the 25. No bites.

Well I may wear an xl glove but I by no means have fat fingers, even when trying I have to push as hard as possible on the 25 to get enough skin in there to just barely touch the edge, on my standard harpoon style StarTac/Umnumzaan's I can get the edge pretty easily, not at all on my Tanto Umnum because the blade is quite a bit shorter than the standard blade.

I don't know if there was a production change or if it's just differences in production but when Blackend came by my place yesterday with his 25 and we compared the two we noticed that his blade was just a touch longer. We also took some photos of the recess at the butt of the 25 that's cut out fir the lanyard knot, I had mentioned in another post that his knife is different than mine or any of the others that I've seen, you guys can bug him for the pics as he's much better with the computer than I am and should be able to post them quickly.
I took a quick YouTube vid comparing the two, I'll post it ip in just a minute on my channel, it's the same user name that I have here.

For the other guys, don't knock the 25 for the pivot, I think that you'll be very impressed by it when you get your hands on it. It's not hard to adjust properly, two of mine aren't even loc tited and they hold just fine- hell, if you can carry an Emerson knife you'll never be bothered by a pivot coming loose anyway, you know the Emerson guys, they have that one long thumb nail so that they can tighten their pivot every time they use their knife ;D

The famous Emerson nail^^ i have me one of those. but yeah i suppose they are all little diffrent. and thats cool :) the way i got cut was on my pinky on the right side pretty close to the nail, i have pretty small fingers and i think thats the reason why i got cut becouse i cant get any meat down to the blade other than that small portion of my pinky finger, if that makes any sense. kinda bad for me tho becouse that is the finger most likely to touch the knife if i put my hand in my pocket ;)

Hopefully it won't turn out to be a common occurrence for you, those are the small details that'd make me part ways with a knife, most people aren't so picky as me though. It's my picky nature that brought me to CRK knives, theres usually no problem, oh and a great collection of Sebenza's that Blackend has, after messing with a few of his knives I had to buy one.

Too much knife talk for my mind to process, had to get the 25 out for some cuddle time ;P

If you carry your knife on the other side of your pocket, then it's your thumb that is closest to the blade when you put your hand in. In this position the clip is also more protected from getting caught on stuff. I shifted my carry position because as a lefty, I kept scratching the leather upholstery on a particular model of car I had as I slid into the driver's seat. I don't have that car anymore, but I've come to like to carry my knives this way for the above reasons.

i cant be angry at her she just wants some attention ;) a good idea Evany but ive got so much stuff in my pocket it feels really wierd and the knife is in the way :S and yeah im a Swede so ofcourse i use Snus and carry the can in that pocket ;) i where accually reaching down to get the can when she bit me, doesnt like my bad habbits maybe?:)

Ouch, damn! Stephen King would like that knife!

My 25 should be here Wednesday. I'll be interested to see if it bites or not. Will also be interested in seeing which (if any) small variations it has if it's one of the original 30 from November.

Congrats on the 25, I think that you'll be very impressed with it!
Please let us all know if you find any variations with yours.

Stephen Kings new book about a Seb 25 that gets passed around to its unknowing victims...
"SLICER"

Thanks for the congrats. I've got to sell one of my 21's now to fund it, but it's worth it to try it out. I'll get photos up once it arrives - have some free time this week to play around with that sort of thing.

I emailed CRK and they said the next batch will be shipped out to dealers in February

I would love to know where mine is, I placed my order the first week that pre-orderers were being taken?
