Very fascinating to see the trend unfolding in real time.

1st place so far is blade shape. the business end, with 35 votes.

2nd place, because we are BladeForums after all, is performance! 19 votes.

Following closely in 3rd is handle comfortability. Shows how important ergonomics are, even if your blade is drop dead gorgeous and cuts forever, if it hurts to use it's not getting used.

The rest follow a trend, sheath functionality or ease of carry takes priority though, probably tying into ergonomics a bit.

Interesting that Fullers are next in line followed by thick knives. The two aspects of a knife that trigger my monkey brain.

On the other end in last place are Quillions with 5 votes, probably because that's more sword territory than knives.

And steel finish with 6 votes. It gets worn off, dented, scratched anyway and you can't use it and expect it to be in pristine condition

My hoard is all over the place, but I love blades that have super pointy tips. Also, I'm drawn to the more unique. Some may call them garish, but people like what they like!

I got the one I mentioned ordering, back in post #26, A boot knife from Ed, a more discrete one for carrying certain places in my journalism works. I've carried this one all day, hardly noticing it is there. It's definitely going to get more play time.

On another note...looking at some of the other answers, I think I have a better understanding of our declining populations these days  🤣

All three of these are hidden tangs and he made the spacers at the guard from the same materials as the spacers between the handle scales

A shot from today's short walk through the woods, after leaving the PO, you can see the yellow spacer
