The Sgian Dubh

Oh, heck yeah. With the tan burlap and light blue liners it will have a nice mix of classic and modern elements...just like all your knives. :D

Well guys she just arrived and I could not have been happier . With what Christof sent is a work of art . I was quite pleasantly surprised how thin the blade and handle are . The contrast between the colors of the knife and the sheaths that Sierra make are functional and beautiful . The Sgian Dubh from Koyote Custom Knives is all I could ask for and more ! ILL put the blade through its paces this week and let all of you know how it does . :):):)

That's a Very Beautiful Sgian Dubh HawkMan, Let us know how that Beauty perform's for ya, I've got several Knive's from Chistof and performance Is right there as a Working Knife, His Grind's & Edge's are "Top Shelf" Enjoy your New Knife,

Excellent!

The design of the knife overall is supposed to be low profile (thin) and still comfortable. I'm trying to keep a wide broad enough handle profile and that little palm wedge thing (what's that called?) along with well rounded edges for comfort. Tell me how that goes, everyone.

Thanks so much Snake DR I surly will enjoy it .Well Christof the design is home run . Great personal defense weapon great balance I mean great balance thin wide blade for its size . The only thing the boot sheath could is a belt clip I love the horizontal carry sheath . Its a perfect personal carry blade . Could not have asked for a better design . Have you ever done a push dagger or a Arkansas tooth pick ? you can put me in for one of each if you ever decide to do either of them Just LOVE YOUR WORK . :):)

Hawkman --

We need pictures! Especially of the horizontal carry system. That right there might give me all the excuse I need to order another one of these little blades .

Christof, these are looking pretty sweet. I might have to order me one in a little while.

I really like the fie work on the tan micarta/gray liner Sgian. That is a great looking knife. Is the handle a bit longer? Or perhaps a bit slimmer? The proportions seem a little different. Nice.

The File Work your doing on the Spine's of the Sgian Dubh's Is a Real Nice addition to the Knife, I was surprised when I seen mine with the File Work ! I really like how It turned out with the Ipe Scales and the Forged Finish, I cant wait to get that Beauty In Hand,

you've got plenty of time to specify that for yours :D

Yeah, If it were only for woods use and fun I would definitely go for it, but I'm just wondering if the hollow pins would make it look less formal for the occasions when I do wear my kilts.

Although I wonder if anyone would really notice, probably unless they're a knife person they wouldn't.

What do you think?

Fully buffed out in stainless, the tubing pins look shiny and there's no problem with that at all. Though I occasionally do some cable mosaic pins, in general I think that flush (not peened) pins should be as unobtrusive as possible. The hollow is a negative space, which isn't distracting and the wall of the tubing polishes good and doesn't end up dominating the handle the way a solid 1/4 inch pin would. 3/16 Solid is fine on a knife this size, 1/8 is, too. Though in 1/8 I'd do a three pin pattern.
