The Sharpened Prybar Club

Vinegar! I soak for about 3 hours a side in a glass cake pan. Comes out nice and uniform.
 
I read in that potato thread just a few minutes ago that Balsamic Vinegar will put a nice, dark patina on it. Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar are good things to have near the stove. You can fry just about anything in that combination and come up with something fantastic. :)
