The shield

I love shields (I've not bought knives because they lacked them) and this thread has been very entertaining and informative. Thanks to all, specially those who posted so many detailed pictures. It's been a real treat!
 
Interesting older thread!
As the name of the company is stamped on the blade and on the bolster,
the shield could do the same for the handle (for example the Case lettering on their shields).
Otherwise, similar forms are used from different knife makers, maybe for contrasting the handle material...?

I like the simple hotdog shield for the lines of the rose- and bocote wood,
and the cloud for the grain of the che chen.



 
Sorry to revive an old thread but many of the pics in this one don’t show up anymore.

I’m getting some custom work done, and was wondering if anyone had any pics of shields that were either bike themed (gear, helmet?) or space themed (rocket, planet, moon?).

Thanks for help!
