Actually, I'm just fishing for some ideas regarding set-up. Before prices went up any more, I finally broke down and got a flat-top AR. I went in to get one of the Bushmaster ORCs (Optics Ready Carbine), but I came out with a Smith and Wesson M&P (Military and Police) 15 OR. I think I'm going to install some flip-up iron sights and a red-dot of some sort. Both the Bushie and the S&W were/are optics-ready set-ups, but I liked the feel of the Smith a little better, and I liked its Picatinny-rail gas block, which gives me better options (I think) for mounting some BUIS.

Ordered a bunch of 30-round mags yesterday and today. 8 stainless steel C-Products and 6 PMAGs this morning. Finding those PMAGs was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Fortunately, my Google-fu is strong.

Next step is some bulk .223. I want reloadable brass, so I'm thinking either the Winchester white, the Fiocchi, or some Black Hills. All are 55 gr FMJ. Other ideas? Any one got any leads on 500 or 1000 round bulk buys?

So anyway, show off your AR-15 with some INFI if you have pics. I'll reciprocate eventually.

Nice AR Brother!!! They are fun to customize. Congrats!! All my knives are in my signature link. I don't have the time or energy today to take a better pic with some steel!! :)

This pic really doesn't due the Ar any justice but........

Stag Arms AR-15 flat top
Eotec 557 with 3X mag
flip up rear sight
removable front
military issue green laser with palm switch
4 way free float hand rail
forward assist hand grip
vickers sling
Daniels Defense QD in the front and back
Vltor 6 way stock with check pads
Command Arms Comfort grip

i also have a insane amount of 30,20,10 round mags and in excess of 2500 rounds.

Very nice. I've read in at least one place today that Stag makes the parts for the M&P 15 guns, which are then assembled by S&W smiths. I haven't confirmed this info though.

I really thought I'd never buy another S&W after the concessions the company made in the 90s. I, for one though, have been glad to see the company sold/bought and resurrected. The boycott certainly sent a strong message, and I'm glad it did. But I was/am one of those people who felt like the death of S&W would have been bad for firearms rights in the long term. Read an interesting article today about S&W's plight in, of all places, the Asian Times: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/EF12Dj01.html

Anyway, not to diverge this one into a political discussion. Let's see some more ARs.

Is that a custom Satin Jack in the lower right? Very nice.

Congrats on the S&W!

Check out http://georgia-arms.com/index.aspx for ammo. They are a small but reputable manufacturer / dealer that was started many years ago by a fellow with one loading press and has grown into a fairly large supplier. That same fellow and his family still own and operate the company, and I can personally vouch that they are great people. Although they sell many brands of ammo, the stuff they load - "Georgia Arms" brand - is top-notch.:thumbup:

Oh, and a quick pic while out walking one day.

What is that knife on the left hand side with the camo looking blade. I think its the second one up. thats a sweet looking blade.

That is a custom shop SFNO, with the flame DC/satin coating.

Yes, that is a custom shop SJ from one of the Ganzaas a while back. I have it up for sale now on the exchange. For some reason the handle just does not feel right for me.

Man, if I only had the energy I would post some pics! I got two deer today and just finished butchering. AD's still shaving sharp and I worked her hard. My dad's Dozier Master Skinner was equally impressive. I would say on the ammo, that you should try and avoid stuff with the crimped primer pockets. That's a real pain to reload unless you invest in the Dillon Precision Super Swage 600 or something similar. http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/25263/catid/8/Super_Swage_600 Ammunition to Go are good folks to get ammo from too. http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php/cName/rifle-ammo-223-556 I just got a thousonds rounds of Lake City ammo from them. Winchester Q3131 is considered some of the best bulk ammo you can buy. It has crimped primer pockets though.

Congrats on the S&W!

+1 For my blasting ammo I buy Canned Heat from Georgia Arms. Just say no to dirty, under-powered Russian crap.

Thanks for the ammo links. Those both look like good sources.

I always heard that if you don't have anything nice to say....then say it loud enough for EVERYONE to hear!!!

I HATE ARs!!!! After my time in Iraq with one......I wouldn't wipe my arse with one! Maybe it was the pathetic FMJ rounds we used.....they just punched little holes in folks without stopping them.

The ONLY way I would get an AR is for the Beowulf!!! http://www.gunblast.com/50Beowulf.htm

Enjoy!

Jason, I hope you'll consider testifying in Washington if the next administration does come after high-cap firearms.

GF: "What??!! Are you nuts? Those pathetic ARs are practically harmless! What you need to ban are IEDs!"

Jason...you know I am there!:D:thumbup::thumbup: I don't mean to sound so negative...I know shot placement, types of rounds...etc, but first hand I saw a fellow with 6 shots, 4 center mass, 1 arm, and 1 head hit....the little sand loving SOB lived for 6 hours!

Actually I am considering putting a Beowulf together.....would this classify me as an AR owner.....I mean I would NEVER use it to shoot .223s?

To be honest, I bought it as a plinker and a fun gun. I also bought it partly as a political statement. The more high cap firearms that find American hands, the more invested voices there will be if anti-gun legislation targets them again. Numbers matter, I hope.

Disclaimer: BTW, this thread is actually a hoax just to see what ARs other INFI nuts own. I've actually sold all my guns in the name of "common sense." :D

Skunk, what sort of flip-ups and red dot do you have there? That's very similar to how I'm thinking of setting up my imaginary gun. :p

My main complaint with my Bushmaster AR is that it is a direct gas, not a piston set up. Makes the action too hot, and gets it dirty faster. I do wish I had grabbed a slightly different version, or waited a month till the new ones came back out with the threaded barrel for removable flash suppressor. (mine is the pre ban staked soldered on AK break)

Makes it hard to put on 4 rail stuff etc. I normally use it for busting rock chucks. I really need to get a much more powerful scope. And I wish I had grabbed the flat top version. The carry handle really makes the optics sit up high.

mine is the dissipator barrel.

no real good pics of it.

Hey brother, let me know when you get tired of that SFNO, I may need it back... :)

Mine uses AR-mags also...
