Here's the Noatak compared to the Red Rock Rover slinger. Not much bigger really:

Here's where the stitching came undone/broke/whatever, on my Red Rock:

I unloaded my Red Rock, and put the contents into the Noatak. Don't care for the way it feels at all. Nice pack, just not for me.

Not sure yet. I probably should put some weight in it, and see how it feels. I like my Red Rock Rover sling bag, but it's not even close to Maxpedition quality. As a matter of fact, my strap came off last time I had it on. The stitching busted. A Maxpedition Lunada is where Red Rock stole the idea from. Kinda like to have a Lunda, but if the straps aren't long enough, it'll be a no go too.

have you considered picking up a janus pouch and using it as an extension to the strap?

Didn't know you could do that. Another thing I'm not crazy about, is where the smaller strap connects to. I just can't get it to feel right, no matter what I try. The pockets are also to the side, and not up and down, so when you swing the bag to the front, they are of a correct orientation.

I am certainly NOT Obi-Wan, but HF should do the trick, or the Ryobi 6" at the Despot....Then again, there's always the old standby Naval Jelly. Works great, easy to use....and less hell on the breathing sacs than iron oxide dust spraying off a wire wheel.

LMAO, I re-read my post like 10 times trying to find what would be against the law.. couldnt figure it out though, which tells me i must of thought it was legal... Which is good enough for me HAHA

And i never did much pike fishing.... honestly not sure i ever did any pike fishing really... For freshwater i mostly just go after catfish and bream or "panfish"... Even so most the time im happy with anything that bites... Depending on what it is i may get to bite back :D

keep reading :) i'll wait :D

Sounds good. Let me know.

I would honestly like to hear that it works out for you. Maxpedition makes awesome stuff. I love my Sitka.

I had the Falcon II, but sold it when I got the MAP 3500. I don't know what the hell to do. I kind of want to trade it for a Lunada. Makes the most sense to me. This was a hell of a price on this Noatak. I just checked out the price of the Janus extension pouch. Hell, it's $33. That's almost as much as I paid for the pack. My wife may want it, when she sees it.

I just want to use it for an off the body ccw option. When I saw the original post saying it came with the universal holster I got excited.

If it isn't meant to be I can live with that.

I've been looking into getting a maxpedition pack

Pricey, but they are high quality though. I wish I knew somebody local, or there was a place locally that carried the Max Lunada. Would like to try one out.

Yea you got me!!! :D

Busy week. Got a little work done this morning but then contractors knocked on my door about 11am and started doing some work.. They did fix the window that had the bullet hole in it so thats good... Only took them a week and a half so i guess thats better than their standard MONTHS... Then they did random fixes for a few hours... Couldnt work during that as i have to watch them the entire time... I dont trust these guys ever since they spilled paint all over everything in my bedroom.

Anyways, around 2 i get hit with a couple witness subpoenas.. I have to be in court Wed. at 8am in the morning... Spring break starts Wednesday too so now the wife will have to miss work to watch the kids while im at court and its not even like i can help the case either way.... Im guessing its for the bullet going through my window, well actually im guessing its because i walked outside right when the gun was fired and seen the muzzle flash.... But i didnt see which guy was holding the gun or anything so this is just dumb.... And wasting time.

And tomorrow at 1pm i have to go back to the surgeon for a check-up.... And hopefully he rips the rest of these stitches out. They are the dissolving ones... But they are only disolving in certain spots, so now i have pieces of stitching sticking out everywhere and im worried about yanking them out accidentally when eating.

Busy Busy. But tonight im going to sit here happily, as right now im in absolutely no pain what so ever and its the first time in a week!! I still drool all over myself when i try to talk.... But hell i did that before the surgery HAHA :D

Anyone seen James tonight?? Hopefully he didnt cut himself too badly on that razor sharp piece of wondrous steel!!

Glad yer feeling no pain, WW. Sucks when someone else does something stupid and you have to take time out of your own life to waste....as if shooting up your house didn't cause you enough strife and wasted time....

TBL, filleting a fish isn't too hard after you have done it a few times. Getting someone to show you how to do it would be best, but there are tons of YouTube videos that could help a lot.

Went and found some open water at a few bridges today and tried out my new fishing pole. Caught one northern pike that was about 6lbs in like 5 hours of fishing. Was sure nice to fish some open water in some warmish weather.

Thanks brother!!

And thats almost word for word what i was saying to the wife earlier.... With more cussing though probably LOL

I want to learn a little about that knapped steel look i been seeing on several knives lately. Looks badass.

+1 yay for healing up quick!

 I'm a quick study at most things. My F.I.L used to clean fish for a living when he was a teenager. I just need to get out on the water with him.

All good in the hood this morning. Waiting at the clinic for my 8 week surgery follow up. Then work (boo)
