Went to the beach today with the wife, daughter, and niece. We were in the gulf and saw a dolphin swim by, maybe 20 yards away. It was pretty cool but there is always that split second when i see the dorsal fin, when i cant help but get worried it may be a shark lol. That is of course until i see the actual shape of the fin... Ah fl life.

Jealous! My wife's parents have a place in Melbourne Beach (east cost 45min south of Daytona). We try to get out at least once a year. On the canal we can get manatee's to come up to the dock. Love it down there. I could stand a little FL weather up here for a week or two!

Thanks guys!!

We saw a bunch of dolphins going out and a few coming back in as well. The company also does dolphin and whale watching tours in a different boat. We didnt see any whales though.

Nice TBL. Manatees are always exciting to see , for me at least. They really are like giant sea cows. Today was nice but the humid fl summer is coming and it can get old quick.

Oh man i love Florida weather. I dont think ill ever miss the snow, or weeks straight of 20 degrees.

I miss the snow but what i really miss is the changing of the seasons. FL has summer, spring and a few days of fall. Lol

I don't know how y'all put up with all that snow and stuff up there. We get an inch of snow down here and everything stops (me too - I refuse to drive in it since no one else knows how either). Central and south Texas usually has 2 seasons - Summer and "not summer", with not summer stretching from November to February.

Different topic - WW - in some snark thread you posted the specs for the fancy competition choppers but I can't find the post - could you list the requirements for such a chopper again, please. TY.

Here are the exact requirements for ya bud, its kind of lengthy... http://www.bladesports.org/knifespec.html

While WW was off partying, I was being a good little knifemaker. ;)

worked on 6 today. put slabs on a paring knife, profiled another, ground bevels on a 'muk (first ever!), and cooked the bottom three.

Thursday evening I did a sharpening job for a neighbour. Completed 8 knives (several in sorry shape) in 1 hour. Rather pleased with that.

btw, my office will be on TV tomorrow evening, 10p Eastern.

Neither my organization nor the one that did the TV special support BF, so I won't mention them by name, but if you're savvy you'll find it.

Thanks fellas, it was a good time.

Thats awesome Daizee. But now it looks like your knife picture disappeared. I seen them a bit earlier though.

Dangit, bet my image host went down again.

We don't have seasons.... We have a climate..... So it is said....

Doc .... I'm a native Tampon..

Heh heh

Nice, Doc. I'm over the bridge in Pinellas. Se minole area. Climate is a good way to put it.

Nice area over there.... Been there many times, just not recently. I actually live a little East of Tampa, in Brandon, but I work for the city of Tampa. If I go to the beach, I go to Bradenton, either coquina or Anna Maria.

I loved Coquina beach as a kid. Last time i was there i was around 10 years old or so... But i bet my daughter would LOVE it. She likes finding pretty shells, and some coquinas look awesome. And when they start moving on her and she finds out they are alive she probably wouldnt ever want to leave LOL.

Ive spent about 3 weeks in tampa/st Pete in the last 6 months, and will be down there again at the end of the month.
