The Spydie Addiction Begins...

Well I’ve bought 3 Spydies in just 2 weeks. Got a Para 3 before it arrived I ordered a Manix 2. Now I haven’t even got the Manix and I ordered a Yojimbo. Think I’m good for a few months.
That is a very nice trio of folders. Well thought out sir!

Thanks. The addiction is real. I’m giddy like a kid on Christmas waiting for them. I’m not sure the next I’ll decide on. But I’m thinking a Shaman. I ordered all black DLC knives, so one of those black Shamans would fit perfect with the others.

Go big or go home? I'll raise you the Amalgam and the Native Chief! The military is a classic, but when I compared one to my Amalgam and Native Chief I think I'm covered in the big Spydie arena!

Until the Military 2, Paramilitary XL, or whatever they're going to call it comes out. Then I'll probably have to have it too. 4 inch blade, comp lock, and tip up carry? Yes please!

Spydercos are truly awesome knives and you can't have just one, for some reason. I owned Spydercos years ago then went over to Benchmade. After I got tired of too small of handles, because Benchmade has this weird irrational like of handles and blades the same length, and fixing problems with brand new knives or sending them back, I gave Spyderco another look. I never looked back. I have many, many Spydercos now and would not part with them. I would part with a couple of my Benchmades if I could find them, but don't touch my Spydies.

I've done the opposite... Started with spydies and went to benchmade. I have normal hands though, and a 940 fits perfectly. However I like my large Benchmades as well... Crooked River and Contego!

Love both companies though, as well as Kershaw/ZT! Have lots of all of them!

Jump right past the budget line and go to Golden and Taichung...their China models are junk, Seki models have some cool steels but are no frills FRN, Golden and Taichung gets you both- although I have seen some bad QC from Golden recently...Taichung are always flawless.

I own four Spydies currently, but have bought and sold/traded/given away many.

I have a mind like a steel sieve, but based off memory, here's what I have, and have had since I bought my first spydie in 2013.

Current:

Customized Manix 2 sprint, CTS-XHP (one of my favorite knives of all time)
Domino black CF
Gayle Bradley first gen
Customized Yojimbo 2
Aqua Salt

Previously:
PM2 (disappeared with my 1986 Wenger Nomad) I'm sure its around somewhere, but its in bad shape anyway.
Dragonfly ZDP-189 (disappeared when I got divorced, loved that little knife)
Southard
Native 5 S110V forum edition
Jot Singh Khalsa
Endura wave
Nilakka
Caly 3 CF ZDP-189
Ikuchi
Schempp Rock

I know there were a few others.

I love spydie holes!

I started with a tenacious also years ago...before I was really even "into" knives. I always had a cheap cheap knife on me but that was my first decent knife. Now for spyderco's I have 2 native lw's, a manix lw, a pm2, a Gayle Bradley 2, a sage 3 cf....and...I think that's it for spidies...my pm2 is my main carry and imo the best all around pocket knife there is. I've been carrying around the southern grind spyder monkey my wife got me for my bday but I'll always have the pm2 and it will be my main carry.
Also I cant believe the price on the pm2 has gone up so much...when my wife got me mine they were $112 for the camo/satin one that I have and just a little more for the all black one.

I've been looking at the smock.
No one favors the Smock ?!?

I have heard many say it is not comfortable or practical to use and were disappointed. I had the exact thoughts looking at it. But, this is my opinion only.

The Pm2 and Manix 2 are the quintessential Spyderco folders. You need to own at least one of them at some point in time. Personally, I favor the Manix 2, but a "replacement" Pm2 could be in my future.

The yojimbo 2 is also a favorite.

Just bought my second spyderco, which is now one of the absolute nicest knives I own. Fluted titanium Native 5. Just beautiful:
