Not me but it's not as purely absurd as you seem to imply. Looks like a gussied up OSS knife, which while kinda mall-ninjaish for a civilian to carry, was a purely functional design.

Well I don't think it's worth $100, but the OSS / SOE lapel knives and thumb daggers were highly functional and useful.
Not much use for a civilian today, but this one would certainly make a great letter opener.

One of the oddest $100 knives I have ever seen. Not my cup of tea but may work for someone who wants to see how life was back in the stone age.

They were?

Im not in a position to dispute your statement, its more of a question.

I was under the impression, that there was not much to hang on to (literally and figuratively) and that the 'lapel and thumb implements' were more of a last ditch very VERY deperate thing under the heading of 'I dont really fancy getting my finger nails pulled off by the SD and this small piece of pointy metal is better than biting that guy with the pliers' sort of thing.

Gee, I wonder, if they had that kind of implements back then:D

Im kidding:D

I get your point.

If anybody would like to try their hand at using a knife inspired by the tools of primitive Man, check out the Condor Ötzi.

While I am a fan of his folders, especially the SnG, I have been amazed at the prices he can get for his scrap metal concoctions. Not only do they buy them, but they rave about them. The nail is one of the milder ones. Some I have seen, I would swear they were drunken bets that he couldn't sell this or that piece of scrap.
But the buyers seem to be happy .
Different people/ different tastes I guess.

Had to look twice to verify that it was, indeed, a legit page for a real knife-like thang... at $100. I am one of those who thinks the manufacturer is having a blast laughing at those who actually buy that.

Well you certainly aren't wrong.
I'd say they were as good as good of a weapon as they could be for what they were though.
Not highly functional in across the board, but pretty good considering they have to be small enough to remain undiscovered in a pat down...ect.

I guess I was over exaggerating the usefulness of such a thing in order to keep a positive tone about this one.

There's not even an edge on it. The only thing about that that I'm not ENTIRELY confident I could make just as well myself is that HT pattern, but I could probably make that as well, if I learned how to. You're paying for the material and the name, that's it.
