The strongest folder ever made?

Andrew, my feeling is you'll be doing 30 knives a year minimum before long. ;)

Now you just need to think of a name for this piece!

This thread generated a good deal of activity in a short period.

The original post was made at 11:52PM on the 19th, with the last post being at 1:02PM on the 21st. Also has 65 replies, and over 2600 views. It generated 5 or 6 sales of the custom American Lawman, that were actually posted and may have generated more that are not posted.

I actually don't know why I even posted those numbers except they did seem of intrest to me.

Once I get squared away with my American Lawman I may talk to Andrew about a liner lock model, one with very thick liners, even thicker than those on my Retribution 1. Maybe more of a framelock with micarta grips on it, and both sides of it.

But first things first, and that will be picking up the American Lawman with the Tri-Ad lock.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone else comtemplating one?

Btw, just wanted to say that the Lion Steel framelock pictured on this thread looks FANTASTIC!!! I'm sure it is plenty strong enough to handle any job you put it to.

I had gotten on the list for one, but just came up short. Then talked with Andrew about the AL as I had liked the design from the first moment I laid eye's on it. Then the possibility of having it built like I wanted was just too much to stand!

So I am happy to see that the forum here has generated sales for Andrew he may never have had. He is a genuinely good fella!

I just asked him to start an Espada for me. Sent him this:

"Could you make me an Espada folder that is mid way between the medium and large? I have owned both CS models and still have the large. I'd like a blade from 5/32" stock at 4.5" long. Id like the same thumbplate as the large and XL Espada models. Smooth black G10 and Ti bolsters with thick (.090") Ti liners. L/R tip up clip that rides with approx 1.5" of butt above the clip."

He said OK :D

Next time I chat with him, I'll tell him to use .2" stock for the blade... Seeing all the others changed my mind.

Not to steal y'alls thunder, but mine will probably be the strongest folder ever made!

I talked to Andrew again and found out, that the spring powering the lock is titanium, and takes about 14 pounds of pressure to overcome it and unlock the knife

Almost a month since I started my order with Andrew... a bit over 3 months to go...

He should be starting on mine in less than a month now. :D

My order is almost done... Should be hearing back from him soon. I can't wait. Feels like it's December 15th. Oh well, I traded my LCC D/A for a SMF which I abruptly wave modded. That should tide me over for now!

I must be right behind you C.M. Andrew called me 2 weeks ago to go over the knife one last time before he makes it. ETA 1st of the New Year - a great belated Christmas present. I have the same knife as the OP except polished, black g-10 (I like g-10). Andrew said it would have a polished wood appearance and feeling to the scales.

Hey C.M. do you have a video or pics of the waved SMF?

I recently ordered and received this knife from Andrew Demko. Based on the American Lawman .1 TI liners, TI backspacer, textured CF scales, hardened 440C rocker bar and .25 pivot, hardened 416 rocker pivot and blade stop pin, and 3.75 long and .2 thick CPM 154 Blade. Considering the heft of the build the knife is fairly light at about 10 OZ And the custom Triad lock is amazing with no blade play and very smooth opening. Andrew estimates it would hold 600 lbs in a weight hang. This isn't really a review quite yet but more showing off my new favorite blade, you guys should look into these, and the production Cold Steel Versions!

Edit: I talked to Andrew again and found out, that the spring powering the lock is titanium, and takes about 14 pounds of pressure to overcome it and unlock the knife.

Damn...that looks like a hunka hunka knife....it musta cost 50 bucks or so...!!!!
