The strongest folders

The strongest production folders I've used are the Spyderco Chinook & Camillus Mad Maxx. Both are rather large and can be a PITA to carry. IMHO the Camillus is a little better built and is more attractive.

Buck Strider hands down. I have the BG42 version and it is a tank. I like it so much, I got the Strider logo tattooed. I have owned a Cuda Maxx (as coincidence would have it, I traded it for the Strider) and though the lock up was superb, the blade and grinds wasn't thick enough for my taste in a hard use and defensive folder.

I'd have to nominate the Mission (MPF) Muli-Purpose Folder, as the strongest and lightest (for it's strength) available. It's all Titanium, non-corrosive, sharp, and none have ever broken to the best of my knowledge. They will bend but not break.<p>Just my 2¢.

I have kindov been put off by liners ever since, though I like integrals. I think I was cutting griptape at the time of it's demise. I got it while I was a freshman in highschool I think, so it was old. My experience with the newer CRKT leads me to believe they are much better now.

I dont pretend to be an expert on liner locks but i was really put off by a crkt liner lock, to the point where it closed on me (i was twisting it sideways to be fair...), i stuck my neck out and got another linerlock (my EDC of a fallkniven mod p) and Im now of the opinion the effectiveness of the linerlock is in the skill of the designer placing the lock out of hte way of bits of your hand flesh! the placement of the lock in the fallkniven is expertley done to be exactly in between the first two fingers of your hand there is hardly any chance of putting pressure on it and unlocking it whereas the crkt has the lock placed right under your index finger making it fairly easy to accidentally exert pressure on the lock...

as for big heavy folders, have you considered a Kershaw 'folding field'?I dont pretend to know any specifics about it other than my dad has had one as his EDC for the last 18 years and its still almost as good as new...
