Few threads lately about ways people feel we can improve the forum have turned into steaming piles.

Here is a place for you to make some suggestions. We most likely won't reply to most of them but I assure you that the info you provide will be used to improve the forum.

Please post them in suggestion form and don't degrade anyones suggestions or argue or this will also be locked.

I have a few that may cut down on a few repetitive threads.

"Hi my name is ___ and I'm addicted to ESEE's" where newbies and oldies can introduce themselves to the community.

"New ESEE/Newly purchased gear thread" where people can post there new purchases and chat about them.

"What's new with ESEE" where the newest updates from ESEE are posted.

New gear sticky sounds like a good idea to me:thumbup:

Well, thanks for taking the words right out of my mouth!

i agree with the above, and i would like to see a sticky consolidation, something similar was done at the HI forum, and theirs looks nice, we have ~12 stickies, any new posts are at least halhway down the page. just my 2 cents.

I think the problem with joining these is that it will created a magathread that sparks has said will drain on the system.....by the threads being seperate they eventually drift off into thread limbo and don't grow into monsters.....I could be wrong..it is just a thought....i am not a network expert....

Maybe have 1 or 2 stickies that link to the other threads. That would clean it up nicely.

We've disscussed this and been through it numerous times between us mods.

A sticky consolidation works great for non-active, info only stickys but most of ours are active threads that would end up at the top of the page anyway.

Good idea, but a no-go.

its not like anyone reads them anyway :D

the rust, rules, and name change could be consolidated, those are more informative than anything. new posts arent really needed.

There could be less stickies.

All RAT Pack related stuff (RP #, RP badges, RP Map) could be cut down to 1 sticky.

The "Anything goes" thread could be unstickied because it's popular on it's own and most of the regulars that post in it probably have it subscribed.

There could be a contest sticky that combined all the current contests.

If a "ESEE news" thread was added then the name change thread could be unstickied and added as a link in the thread.

That cuts down the sticky threads by half just by combining and linking similar topics in one thread.

I'd start scratching some stickies.

No one likes ARs more than me, but does the lower thread deserve a sticky?

Add the 1095 steel and rust to the FAQ. What more can be said about it? I'd lock it.

Rules? No one reads the rules. I like you guys, but I never read them. "Don't be a jackass" will keep you between the white lines to keep you from the ban hammer and reading that isn't going to make any of the crew around here change.

As Jess said in a thread today, when people spend their hard earned money on a new tool, I'm all for them posting a thread about it if they want. There will always be look what I got threads and what should I buy threads. I made both when I was new here.

Seriously, stickys are going to be as they are.

We want people to read them! Hiding them under another level of stickyness will only make EVEN less folks do so.

If you look at the current stickys, the top 5 would be on the first or second page anyway.

They are stickys for a reason.

Not trying to be a jerk but continuing to suggest it won't effect the outcome.

Instead of having to post 25 posts in order to get a number...how about a test of sorts....made up of a few basic things all ESEE fans should know.
They "apply" for the test by asking for it, it is emailed to them, when they pass, they get a number.
This way they are required to do some research on their own...maybe this will cut down on so many redundant threads. (?)

Katie said you will eventually cave..... :D In that case, leave the forum like it is. Not a whole lot to change really.

that would make the rat pack numbers even more complicated. and that would be a lot of stuff to have to "grade" but in theory it is a good idea.

I suggest we all be courteous and polite despite any differences in opinion :D

PLEASE... I don't care if the whole first page is stickies if they are all very active and pertain to everyone. I think the paracord wrapped izula thread deserves to be a sticky. 20 pages of good conversation and awesome pics? hell yeah! And gear runs need to be stickies-where to buy, contact info, cost, when to expect RAT gear like water bottles and teeshirts and zippos and stuff like that.

I'm not too sure if you meant just improving the ESEE Forum, or the whole BF, but I think being able to reply to a thread via email would be a good feature, as I can access my email on my phone, and see what replies to a thread i've made or subscribed to, yet loading BF on my phone is really expensive, uses all my credit, so by replying to the "reply to thread" email would be pretty handy I reckon.

Not too sure what it takes to be able to do this though, like whether the server can handle it or some new special program/code is needed?
