Stumps, real happy to hear of your recovery success. good stuff and congrats.

i was at a big box store prior to Christmas, looking for stocking stuffers. i noticed that they had a Buck Platinum Series Boone and Crockett boning knife in the glass case. it was on clearance for $38. needless to say, Merry Christmas to me. i really like the knife. it is very well made, and i cannot wait to put it to use.

i don't believe i posted any pics...until now...(queue the music)...

Thank you all for posting some Buck knife treasure I like them all:thumbup:. I wish I had found one of the Boning knives on clearance;).

Here is a few I picked up a few weeks ago.....anyone see a theme with these????

JB

PS, funny story to go with the Rosewood AG knife. I'll try to add it later (go to get ready for work). Please keep the photo's coming, eye candy for break time.

I got in my first 100+ mile backpacking trip last week since my heart surgery in April, 2015.
This is the knife that went along for the walk.
It weighs in at 3.7 ounces and clips nicely in my pocket for easy access.:thumbup::thumbup:

What knife is that

gedlicks is the top left a YellowHorse or is it paint?

bucktool - All these knives came together in a large collection of Buck Knives I purchased from a retired Buck employee a few years ago. Some I believe were prototypes. The top left one I believe is not a Yellowhorse but it is real stones and not painted. Not sure if they made it into production.

The stones are Turquoise. They were a limited edition of 500 and can be found on the 1999 Special Projects list. 175-TT cat #2878. Mine are serialized. Here are 2 that demonstrate a nice variation in color.

Thanks Roger (DeSotoSky) for the information on the inlayed 175's. I like the variations in yours.

What a great show we all had today and still time for a few more.

Thank you to all for sharing.

Haebbie I do like the gray corrian Bucks and was able to get my hands on a 112 version. Here is a older picture of mine.

This is a early 110 that I had found at a gun show with the sheath.

This is one that I felt that I had to have.

Thank you for looking, enjoy the show. Lets make Armand proud while he is gone. HL

I4Bucks, who is the cowboy etched on the blade of your Buck 482? Is he a tribute to a real person or a generic cowboy? I have seen a few of them in pictures, I also saw some sheaths on the auction site with the same profile. Nice knife! Thanks, OH

I am not I4Bucks, but may be I can answer the question.

Yes, the Silhouette of the "Cowboy" is an Image of a real Person.
He is Jim Shockey. Buck made a Series of knives with the Signature
and the likeness on the other side for Cabelas. Ho is Jim Shockey?

I asked Wikipedia:

Jim Shockey is a Canadian outdoor writer, a professional big game outfitter and television producer for many hunting shows. Jim has hunted in more than forty countries and has taken nearly three-hundred known species. Jim is the producer and host of Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures and Jim Shockey's Uncharted on Outdoor Channel.

Hope that helps.

Haebbie

I recently rotated these into home carry since they're the only Bucks I have that seem collectable that I didn't miss out on, and I like them a lot!

RIP David Bowie
