The Sunday Picture Show... (1-10-2016)

Sorry for the late story on the Rosey AG knife,

So I'm a sucker for the Gold etched tattooed Buck knives. While fishing one day I see a unique gold etch blade I have not seen before. I check all of the old data sheets and can't find it listed so I pulled the trigger......:D.

Here is the Gold etched blade

Here is what it lookes like with the proper lighting:rolleyes:

Lesson for all of the new collectors, ask questions before you pull the trigger and shoot yourself in the foot:thumbup:. It's still a great knife and will make a great deer camp knife!

"God's Speed MR. Bowie", give my regards to Major Tom!

snip I also found a very early Bucklite 422 with the 1983 NOAC blade etch in a local pawnshop - this knife was also in unused condition (but missing the nylon sheath).

You collect Buck knives AND scouting materials. Two very competitive area of collectibles. Congratulations on the elusive rare red scout 422. Wow! It is a beauty. Excellent to see one in such terrific shape and so well photographed. Thank you. Your pawn shop is not at all like the ones in my neck of the woods. The word "new" isn't in their vocabulary I am sorry to say. I want to go shopping with you. Lets exchange venues. That will work.

Oregon, I was a Boy Scout in the 1960's and later, when my son was a Boy Scout, I was an adult Scouter. That is my Croatan Lodge 117, OA neckerchief from 1969 - issued one per life in those days (may still be that way now). That BSA cap came later, during the mid to late 1970's I think, and the sash was current in the early ninety's (bought it to preserve my original Brotherhood sash). I don't really collect as much as I "accumulate and keep" - I have my Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Explorer uniforms! My best knife venues are pawnshops and I travel about half the state on a regular basis in my sales job - the pawnshops that buy knives usually know what I like (Buck, Case, Schrade USA) and hold them back for me until I circle around. It has taken quite awhile to develop those relationships. Thanks, I was very lucky to find that knife. OH

Old Hunter Sorry I did not get back sooner to answer your question, but I see Haebbie did a fine job of it. Yes it is from Cabelas and was the first year it was offered. The sharpener from what I understand was for a limited time with the knife. I had planned to get the entire set but only have the one. HL

Thanks HL - I've been looking for spare sheaths lately and had seen a few for sale on the internet with that profile - must have been a decent number made. OH
