Great picture show as usual. We have a strong following on the 2 dots with Buck collectors and I just had this stag 2 dot come up from Texas this week

Scott, I like these knives too. You got a tree pin two dot in outstanding condition and
I got a two pin four dot. But unfortunaltely the knife is badly used.

Best,
Haebbie

Man, what a great show, newcomers and old pros all shining bright-plus the tweeners as well-thanks to all.

New addition this week I thought was cool even though I'm not a "small" knife guy. Never saw one of thes before. Buckmates lizard skin 529 with matching wallet.

thanks for looking and posting:thumbup:

Ima, I have seen one of those before but not with the package or wallet, cool beans .
Ark, In your right hand photo, far right knife you have a Var. 9 v 14 which was the only 2liner that was stamped on the right hand side . Either from late 1969 or early 70 . Good find . Bad, nice Classic set going . You get that last one and it will make a great set for you . Be very proud of that collection . A nice 121 and with that sheath . DM

That's cool. Never seen that one before.

Thanks guys, I had thoughts of keeping it in the package as a collector. My curiosity caused me to try and slip it out of the package. The plastic was so brittle it just cracked up. So much for that idea.....would have had to fondle it eventually so I guess better sooner than later:p

Ok here is a little story to go with the 112 I posted in this weeks SPS.

In 1972 I was a young boy.....12 years old. I was raised in a suburban CA city....so no hunting and no fishing in town. I had to bike to the subway (BART) ride it a few cities away and walk 2 miles to the reservoir for some fine Trout fishing. I always had some chores to do to earn some $$$, I would buy every Outdoor Life and Field & Stream magazine each month and dream of being able to hunt like the stories in the mags.

I had a small knife collection at that time already....Case, Scharde, Buck, Ka-bar, and a few Euro imports. The first Buck in my collection was a 110 and it was a sweet knife in the eyes of a 12 year old boy. Some time in 72 I read an article that Buck was making a smaller version of the 110 called a 112. At the time I thought to myself....wow, that would look cool a big and little Buck in my collection. I saved the money I earned....mowed lawns, pulled weeds all over the neighborhood. Saved up the cash needed and headed off to the sports store and bought the 112......SWEET!

When I got home and pulled it out of the box I was dismayed to see it was black and even more upset to see it had no nail nick.....the 110 and 112 side by side did not look the same. I was hoping the 112 would look like a mini 110 and it was not even close. To this young knife collector Buck had missed it's mark, the black plastic looked cheap to me, as did the missing nail nick. I gave those knives to my brother as the years went by.....

Fast forward to 2011, I still have a little knife collection. I have accumulated a few knives from the same vintage as listed above (110, 112). I have no Idea what the true year of the 110 was as I had been collecting knives for a few years already at the time. I do know that the 112 was from 1972 as it had the black plastic stuff on it (Micarta). However, I have no idea which one of the three versions of the 1972 Micarta 112 it was???????

Here is the side by side 110/112 from my 72 time line. If I had waited until 1973 at least the 112 would have had wood shoes.....and 1980-81 for the first nail nicks.

Do you still think micarta is cheap looking jb? Funny how its highly sought after now.

JB, I love those stories . Both my Grandfathers had farms/ranches and though we had to work hard we also went hunting and fishing--OFTEN . I didn't fully realize how this would shape me later . DM

A real beauty of a 107 presented by David Martin. He can tell about it (post #56).

Jb, nice story about fishing and growing up with Buck Knives... Nice knives and pics...:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for posting every week ... ITE ...

This is my first Buck knife, bought when the model 107 Scout first came out in 1976 . Only a handful left the factory in this configuration that year . The knife, shape, style and size had been mfg. for atleast 4yrs. prior in the Empress Trio model 200 and Windsor steak knife set model 206 but never had its own name and model number . Plus, it came with one of Buck's first pouch style, drop-in sheaths . It changed some over the years and was discontinued in 1992 . The blade length is just a 1/16 shy of a 110's but is full tang . Boy, the adventures I've had with this one ... Thanks, Plumber . DM

Mitch, your junk store finds are my favorite of the bunch. Used!
