Thats a fine lookin 112  The blade and smooth Buff are a great combination, and the FG's and red liners really add to it imo.

Here is my -110- I got last week. I already posted the pics in my thread, but figured they would work here too.

Terrific 112 ITE. The red liners look great against the dark horn and nickel silver. Very nice and looks as though it might be in mint condition. I like the fingergrooves and the chipflint blade makes it look exotic and rich.

Mickey (Charles) Finn's collaboration with Buck the titanium 186 (a $60 out of town pawn shop find for me):

Thats a nice find Oregon. The pocket clip, looks like it is out from the frame quite a bit. How well does it hold the knife in pocket ?

Thank you kindly. I stumbled across it while visiting Ashland. It was in one of the many pawn shops in the neighboring town of Medford. Neither I nor the shopkeeper knew any specifics about the knife.

I haven't carried it. The blade looks unused. The clip doesn't look pocket friendly. My research suggests that the attachment clip was intended for a belt and not necessarily a pocket rim. But there is a protruding nub on the inside bottom of the clip that you might be able to see in the pics and this should help keep the clip in place.

The double dash looks brand new fresh from the mint. You really know how to pick them and make em shine. Wow! Terrific find.

Thanks... Its hard to believe someone would have bought this almost twenty years ago, and never used it, but if it has been used, I sure can't tell it.

I've developed an eye for the 186's like yours. They are perrty cool. I would imagine they are fairly hard to find with the take down tool still attached to the knife. Did those knives have 420 blade steel ?

For your fun today we present 'Clone' considerations.

Looking at these two knives you would think they both are Buck, (Camillus contract 1974 - 1985), the last contract design before Buck took the 303 home.

Well, your almost right. Look at the grind marks on the tang and how Remington is just pad printed over the grind marks. Notice the "Buck" usually exclusive slanted bolsters on the Remington-Camillus-Buck, whatever.

I believe that Camillus issued a version of this size and design with there own markings, but stamped in the tang. The bolsters may be straight, I think. Just grind a little swedge on the blade, swap shields and you got yourself a Buck 303. I have not run across a nice Camillus tang stamped one yet but I am watching. I guess I will never know, was this a leftover Buck blade or some other.

Posted these yesterday - my NOS double dash FG, purchased Friday. I haven't decided whether I like the aging or whether I'll clean and polish it. I love the ebony grain on this one - it is better in person than in the pics. ;)

Hi another great SPS, thanks to all for the wonderful photo's of your Buck's.

For today's show I have a photo of the CTP Utah 100th. This knife was issued in 1995 and 1000 were made. The knife has some ties to my Burton family heritage. In the foreground of the photo is a photo of my great great grandfather Robert Taylor Burton and a book written about his life. The Burtons were part of the CTP group of Mormons and my great great great grandmother died during the crossing as depicted on the CTP 110's blade. Also the photo of RT Burton is him in his uniform, on the back of the photo is written "General Robert Taylor Burton" (General for the North during the Civil war)
