The Sunday Picture Show... (1-31-2016)

Very nice knives and axes. Thanks ITE for the show it is a thing of beauty.

Where my 106 resides.

This is the anvil cut out from a new version 106 axe. Unfortunately I do not have the new 106 yet.

I know of at least one more 400CB, I read somewhere that less than 200 were ever made

Oregon, I'd like to see that FS axe as well. Plus, could you tell me what is the cleaver / jar opening looking object in your photo. Back- center. DM

Oregon, I would appreciate getting to see a picture of that FS axe sometime. 300
My pleasure.

Oregon, I'd like to see that FS axe as well. DM
The "can opener" look is the kick to keep the blade off the inside of the back of the handle when the knife is closed.

Off topic (This knife was in the first two photos in my post on page one and here are more photos of it and of its other known twin per request, it is one of several Wire JacKs, there are only 5 known large models, this model is called a Chop-Chop Knife)(The co-author of the definitive book William Schrade upon seeing online photos of the Chop-Chop knife contacted me online to determine whether or not my Geo. Schrade axe was a fake. I told him of a second one. Photos were exchanged. The owner of the 2nd axe had exchanged notes many years ago and we all loosened up. William Schrade, Great Grandson of Geo. Schrade, is a forum member and knife maker:

This book was written before the existence of Chop-Chop Knife was known. Pictures taken from ads. When only 4 large Wire Jacks were known to exist. How many other prototypes were made? What might those who look find?

Oh no you didn't. Everyone knows that Rangerlites are impossible to get and in new condition they are even harder to get than that! Stunning find, bravo, my hat is off to you. Going to find a pillow for my head. That is really something and I thought you were under water over there...

Here is an axe you don't see too often. The micarta handle completely wraps around the tang c.1972.
This one is rare enough to deserve a spa treatment some day.

Sky, thanks for posting the photo of the Royal Ranger knife. I was a member of Royal Rangers growing up.
Oregon, thanks for your photos and explanation of the Chop-Chop knife. DM

Sky, your hidden tang 116 is one I don't see. Why does it have a model number on it? DM

Correct. My point. But just look closely at his axe and in his photo of the 2 stacked together, both have model numbers.? DM
