BUCK 500 not sure handle 1 48.jpg
a>
A nice 500 I bought a while back because it looked cowboy/western. Wasn't sure what the handle was made of but I carried it to the Atlanta blade show and asked Wild Bill and Leroy. They weren't sure when they first looked at it but in better light they decided it must be mastodon. I just know it looks nice.

Excellent SPS so far. Always a favorite stop, and I am forever grateful of this wonderful community and all our members. Nothing special for me today. This one became a quick favorite and is carried often. Love the color and material combination. Pairs well with #83 Tascosa Lockback or Small Inkosi

I have wondered about the claymore style bowies model # in the past since the 3000 they produced for Harley didn't show a model # on the COA. Sweet knives and that sheath makes it a hell of a lot sweeter. I always thought the Expert hunter was the model 907, but there has been doubles in the past so I'm guessing there are 2 model 907's(Expert Hunter and Bowieo_O:D:cool:)

One recent thread on Yellowhorse Bucks in recent past. For those who haven't handled one this can be the construction method.

In the 300 series the most common 312 and 314 (especially Bay knives) have Ebony reverse scales, I have a 312 1994 with bolster work and an enlayed hawk with both sides done. Some smaller version 300s will have both sides done. I have the 305 shown and a 309. Other models can be double sided also. Just FYI some are one sided..

This 309 from 2003 is single sided.

Dogpound, you have 2 Marbels, the Ideal and Woodcraft. Plus, the Western Black Beauty, in the group. DM
yes sir I do and look at the schrade in the original box with papers..
and he is on the way with another box of knives to sell me---he said there was a couple bucks in the box--woohoo!!!!!!!

I have that same Knapp Sport Saw from Boise, ID and it works. I do not have it with the twin sheath like yours. Some good finds in your pile. DM

Awesome show folks, I like every Buck you guys have posted today!!! Thank you Armand for doing this for all to enjoy each week. Sorry I'm late....again.

In 1988 Buck issued 3000 of the 907 HD Bowie 85th, these are big knives the same size as the 903 Special bowie and the 909 Mountain Bowie knives, Buck also issued HD tattooed bowies in these models. They did not issue a factory plane version of the 907, so the one's SHB & James shared must be the leftover blades from the HD issue (very cool).

HD Bowies 907, 909, 903, 909

At most there is only 2,999 of the Harley 907's still out there:D:D:D

FYI,

Here is a bit more HD 907 information. In 1988 Buck issued 100 of the 907 85th HD tattoo's with Mastodon Ivory handles, issue price was $1000. Over the last 10 years I found 3 of them for sale and the owners were very proud of them as the sale price was 4X the original price.

There is one on CraigsList right now for $3,500.

What's about a 908 with mop handle, one of 300, do you know it has been sold for? And what's the worth today? I was asked if I am interested.
I'll post a picture if I get it.
