The Sunday Picture Show... (11-29-2020) . . . (OLD Show Look at the DATE...)

So I went down the 111 rabbit hole on the BCCI website.
Originally there was a 111 skinner from the 40's....?
Does anyone have one of those with a pic? (you don't have to tell us you bought it new):D

I learn something every day.
Thanks.

The 111 skinner was a fixed blade (no I don't have one but would like to see a photo).
The Aluminum 111 classics with the coin stamped western scroll came out 1982.
The current 111's and the 55's show up in the 2005 catalog.
This was a short look at the BCCI site, catalogs and model history.

my carry for the upcoming week (or more.)
2014 (Walmart SFO?) Barehead 371 with black and blue G10 covers, and an 2018(?) SK Blades SFO "The Gentleman" 110 with smooth black G10 covers, and a drop point CPM154 blade, (no blade redundancy, for a change. :D )

(to those sensitive to such things, please forgive my inclusion of the offshore Buck in the SPS.)

Yeah, I guess I knew the 110 was once a fixed blade skinner. but not the 111.
I guess either would be hard to come by anymore.
The little black and white photos that are more like drawings make you wish you could see one even more.
:)

I read somewhere Buck introduced the 111 folder to be more of a jewelry quality knife, and was to be made with silver bolsters.
But that changed with the silver "rush of the early 80"s and they started making them with nickel instead.
It would be cool if they did and someone had one of those.

I don't really believe everything I read. Maybe someone here knows, or can confirm or elaborate on this.
Thanks.

Sorry, maybe I should shut up/start a thread on this as this is a picture show:eek:
Sorry ITE.

It's all good. This is how we all learn. I love all information about any of the buck knives we post or don't. This is for everything has to do with buck knives. It's a course a show and tell. The more info the better. I I really like when you guys have something to say about each other's knives. After all we are all proud Buck owners and collectors.

ITE, thanks for kicking off the 'Show' again this week. Thanks to all the Buck brothers and sisters who post their photos and make comments.
Here's my David Yellowhorse 111 Lacy...

Sweets, I'm not much into the drop point blades but that does look sweet. Thanks for sharing

I think the silver was referring to the classic aluminum model?
