The Sunday Picture Show... (12-11-2016) . ( OLD SHOW LOOK at DATE)

I sure enjoy the SPS every Sunday. Always very NICE 👍 BUCK KNIVES! Thanks ALL!

I started off this morning showing this Buck 311. I carried it today.
Thought since some of you are experiencing cool weather that I would take a photo of the 311 in my garden.
This was just taken today. :)
My Everglades tomatoes are coming in nicely.

Mark,

Thanks for the photo if your 311 enjoying a nice day. It's been raining off and on here in not so sunny CA, worst of all it's been freezing cold hitting just below the frost temps . Funny thing is it's a moist cold and feels worse (colder) that the dry cold snow weather, go figure.

Off I go to work, it will be a long night.....more photo's please everyone;)

Some wonderful looking blades here today! Thanks again Armand!

I've been really happy with my 124's, and ended up making a really heavy duty leather sheath. Fully waterproofed (heavily Sno-Sealed inside and out) 9-10 oz veg tan shoulder leather. All put together with 18 #9 copper rivets, and one brass snap. Fits perfectly, and is as solid as the knife.

A friend messed around with his knife and thought it was garbage. I had to do ALOT of sanding to it. Now the Ebony fits like a glove and my friend wants it back. LOL!!

Fantastic show today everyone. Great knives. Thanks to all.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::snowman:

Appreciate seeing all the sharp-looking blades again this weekend.
The Buck 403 that was posted had a very nice handle, and also the "extra" lanyard hole.

All I see constantly each week are so many new-to-me Bucks!
I hope the SPS keeps on...and on...and on...
Have a great week ahead!

Boz, folks who have been active collectors and members on here for years see Bucks that they have never seen before. Drop in on the stag, ivory and pearl threads and you will see some of the most treasured spectacular and beautiful Buck works of art in the world! I go back to them over and over. ..

Ok so I know I'm a day late...but this JUST came in and there's just no way I could wait a week!

Please forgive my indiscretion.

Will do, bucksway....thanks! Now the Q. How do I get to/where to look for the "stag, ivory and pearl threads?" Are they somehow identified?

Part of my long-time profession was being a "numbers person" at universities/colleges. An interesting, curiosity stat for me would be to know how many different Buck knife models have been created over the life of the company. I'd also guess that somewhere in Buck's company archives, that number might be maintained.

Agreed with your assessment on Buck creating "works of art." I think that both Henry rifle and top-quality shotgun stocks & forearms have works of art in their wood furniture, too. Love to look at these wood masterpieces whenever I can. Same for me with knife handles when made out of different woods.

Looking forward to more looking!

Hi Boz,

Here is the link to the thread that Bucksway was talking about (sit back and enjoy the photo's all 41 pages).
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...d-(Let-s-See-Your-Stag-amp-Ivory-Buck-Knives)

In Addition, the Buck Collectors Club (BCCI) has a web site for their members that has many useful tools and endless info on Buck knives. One of those tools is a list of all the model numbers of all the Buck knives, so if you joined the club you would have an answer to that question.

Thanks to you both. Looks like I have an enjoyable evening ahead.
Actually, probably more than one evening with +45 pages to view!
Take care.
