The Sunday Picture Show... (12-17-2017) . . . OLD Show Look At The DATE...

Thanks for starting another SPS ITE:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sad day in my household.:( Had to say goodbye to my 15 1/2 year old Puppy Rocky. His back legs started going out on him almost a year ago and in May we prayed he would make it through the summer with us, our prayers were answered and he stayed strong into the last few weeks. the last few weeks were tough as we knew it was close to the end. It is extremely hard waking up today and knowing its the first of many days without my best friend in the whole world and arguably the best dog a man could call a friend. Not trying to bring anybody else down, and I know brighter days are just around the corner.

As many of you know Rocky would always hang out in the yard while I did my Knife photos and he would do his best to bomb them from time to time. Here are some of the Buck pictures he weaseled his was into, and some he was meant to be the star of. Thank you all for being here with me every Sunday and enjoying a passion I love and that my Puppy loved taking part of.:)

I'm sorry for your loss, this summer I had to put down two dogs. Both were great pets and friends. The time had come due to medical issues. Always hard to do.

Here are some Bison sheaths. Soft hide. Ended up backing them up with a thin fine leather interior.

Moose Drool is so popular out of Missoula MT that it Can be bought at Costco. A small brewery that makes some great beer.

That's an interesting knife. To me, it looks as though there is something a little different about the butt rivet.

Actually the light is hitting it kind of funny. I will have to get a picture in some better light. The pivot end stands out too, but is "reflected" out in these pictures. Here is some other 303s where you can see the rivets:

Hi Mike,

Sorry to hear of the loss of your four legged family member. I know it hurts, but he is no longer in pain and you both had a great run together 15 + years of memories.

I dedicate these knife photo's to Rocky and all Man's Best Friends who are waiting for us on the other side.

Mike, sorry for your loss. I enjoy seeing all the pictures with your best friend Rocky in them. I think just about all of us have lost one of are buddies. It takes a long time to get over. And before you know it you'll have a new friends best friend. Just happens. Take care and thanks for sharing. Armand

Mike...I missed the part you wrote about Rocky.
I thought he was just feeling photogenic again.
Doesn't seem right that dogs have such a short life compared to ours.
Rocky was a great looking dog. I know how they become a part of the family.
Sorry for your loss. Mark

Vapor, There are four single blades, offered very short time, Black sawcut, red sawcut, yellow sawcut and Chairman series. I will look for photo in my PB rescue mess. ch

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. As a few of you mentioned it seems unfair dogs have such a short life here on earth, the only sense I can make of it is that they are way more deserving of Heaven, so they get to go there a lot sooner. I have so many great memories to reflect upon and for that i am grateful. Hope everyone has a great week!

Picture of single blade 300's. I will admit my mistake in describing them earlier.
They were smooth yellow and smooth Dymondwood, along with Chairman and black sawcut. 2010 date stamp. These were production knives they just left out the other blades and springs. Vapors photo appears to have a much younger date stamp and brass spring rivet. A "slimmed" knife. I have a couple. One I call a "pig sticker", no I wasn't biker, a 321 bird knife with the gut hook removed. And had a couple with just clip and sheepsfoot blade altered by LR trying to get a run of clip and warcliff bladed 300's made - no success.

At one time I wore cowboy boots at work and would carry this in my sock.

Sheepsfoot ground down close to nic to 'simulate' warcliff blade.
