The Sunday Picture Show... (12-18-2016) ... Old Show...

Here is a Gold Series 103. There was also a 102 in the 3 knife series. Interestingly, I have only ever seen the blade etch on the 119, ruins a nice blade IMO.

Thanks for that info. Wasn't sure of the history of the gold series.

It's Too Early,

Yes, I agree on another very good SPS. Not only are there a whole lot of cool-looking blades again posted today, but for me some interesting non-knife things. Great sharing by everyone!

~The 55 year old Buck sharpening stone was a really "solid photo"....I liked it.
And to remember the pre-postal zip code days told me the years are rapidly rolling along.

~Then I had never seen the "Buck's Date Code Chart" before, and some great info there.

~When you mentioned having the chart also, and that you got yours in OR, I just "discovered" that your location is listed as Portland. That brought me back to great memories of the state I would have really liked to retire to. My wife and I lived in McMinnville for several years, wrapped around the year 2000. A GR8 ST8 with its abundant and astounding natural beauty. We camped a lot while in OR, and enjoyed every time out.

Ah well, it was a good reason to return to the Midwest since most of our family is still in this region. My wife especially is so much happier here. I think she somewhat felt she was "falling off the edge of America" living only 50 miles or so from the Pacific Ocean! Anyway, we left our youngest daughter in OR because she fell in love with the active outdoor life there. She lived in Portland a number of years, now is back in McMinnville.

Back to the SPS. I know my Buck 389 would "love OR," and our camping trips, too.......;)

Thanks Boz, for sharing your 389... I still don't
Have one... I got my mouse pad from my friend
Oregon (Steve) here on the Bladeforum as a gift...
He's one of the good guys that's on here... There
are a lot more and you all know who you are...
Anyway I do live in Oregon... Newberg and Steve
lives in Sherwood... So we are not to far from
McMinnville... It is Beautiful here in Oregon for
sure... I'm always ready to go to Lincoln City to
go eat at Mo's... We hope to see you here next
Sunday... Thanks :)

Here's a 119 for the drawing. Don't have many 119's and only seen this one twice since I got it, lol.

No etchings on the blade.

This next one is an older 2 dot from the late 1970's that I use quite often.
It has a 440C stainless steel blade which I really like.
I added the Sambar stag a few years ago.
The custom sheath is nice because I can just clip it on my belt quickly whenever I want to carry it.

Now that's a knife!

Thank you all for your comments on the odd vintage Buck knife I posted. I just heard back from Joe Houser and he thinks the knife might very well be a true frankenbuck. Meaning it is extremely possible it was made by
Frank Buck because he was prone to making odd knives or the other possibility is that it is a custom knife made to a customers specifications. Either way it is truly an odd knife for a Buck. I just wish it came with a
sheath that was original to the knife.

Thank you to all who posted some pictures of your Buck Knives and to those who dropped by just to view what was posted. Next Sunday being Christmas might be a bit slow since most will be busy
with their families so please do the best you all can at stopping by and if you can find the time than please post what you can.

Armand has always taken the time to get this show up and running every Sunday like clockwork for all of us to enjoy and the best way we all can show our appreciation to him is to post pictures and comments and keep
this show going strong.

Here is some cool knives from a friend of mine.
