Still trying to find out about this one. A Colonial type soldier (?) laser etched into the ebony handle. Does anyone have any info on this? There was nothing on or in the box to give a clue.
It's not a one-off because someone else posted a query about another back in 2013.
Buck 110 with Mt Fuji gold etch. c. 1988. Beautiful stag handles. I can find no special projects listing for this knife. No box so I don't have a catalog number to know if it was a factory issue. Mt Fuji is the highest peak in Japan at 12,388'. It is located 60 miles SW of Tokyo and last erupted in 1707. My 'gut' feeling is that the etch is not Aurum and the serial number location is atypical. I have seen some Taylor etches serial numbered on the bolster. If anyone has more info, please share. ( yes, I'm a brass polisher.... )
My only other 110 other than last weeks Workman model. 300
Well, dang it, or I guess not. I flipped the Photobucket page and I apparently have the second version of the 110 Workman also. Maybe I need to dig around more often.
that one is a limited edition of 200 knives ordered by the last importer Ragot SA for the French market . it was for celebrate the bicentennial of the French Revolution .
This is my favorite Harley Davidson 110. Edition III, the Early Racers. I really like the white Corian handle. There were 10 knives in the series, spanning from about 1990 to 1998. Each edition had a different handle. All were black etched and made in great numbers, usually 3,000 with a few exceptions.
Another Bastile 110 to go along with Buckfan22's. The French Revolution began with the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789. This Aurum gold etch commemorates the 200th anniversary in 1989 with an issue of 250. I remember making a paper mache model of the Bastille for a school project when I was a kid. I'm not French and cannot remember what the project was for.
Just a plain ole buck 110 with Nickel Silver Bolsters. I bought it because I liked the nice matching Macassar Ebony Dymondwood scales. For a standard knife, it's a real beauty.
