The Sunday Picture Show... (2-10-2013)

Badhammer and Flatlander, thanks for the compliments on my Model 12, it is slick as glass; it was built in 1947, the Polychoke is vintage to the gun (but not factory installed). Saturday I was using the "V" setting (between MOD and FULL), but after patterning the Poly I learned that it gives LT MOD patterns while set on "V". I too am a big 16 gauge fan, owning several; a Browning Citori White Lightning made in 2010 (a Valentine Day gift from my wife in 2011), an unfired Model 12 made in 1960 (traded into that one), and my other hunting favorite - a Browning standard, made in 1951 right after the new safety was designed and introduced for the Auto-5. Old Hunter, great photos...love the firearms and the Buck 307.

I'm currently deployed and carried my Buck 307 this last Sunday as well...darn fine knife.

OH, seems we have similar tastes in shotguns. For me its my grandfathers 30's Model 12 Cyl (his old quail gun). Since I wanted to shoot it I bought a 1948 barrel and magazine assembly in 28" full and swapped the original. But I'm not refinishing. Eventually the original bbl will go back on and the full assembly will pair up with my 1960 Model 12 Mod. I also have a early 50's first make 870 Wingmaster with all three barrels. Finially, a 1957 Sweet Sixteen (my shooter) in great used condition and a late 80's Japanese Sweet Sixteen. I've added a 26" Invector choke barrel for the Belgian which came with a polychoked barrel. Anyway, love the 16ga for everything but waterfowling. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Sorry about distracting the thread. So I'd like to show off my English Script 500 series collection. The bone is not script but the others are. Short two of the stag knives. The white is are custom rehandles in ivory.

Thanks Liberando - where are you deployed to?

Flatlander, that is one very nice collection of 500's!

Howdy Old Hunter, I'm at a base in Southwest Asia...my last tour before I retire.

Again, sure enjoyed the photos and the discussion--a great snapshot of America.

Liberando, Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! I know it will be good to get back home; I was in SWA for OIF in 2003 with the ARNG - retired in 2005. Here is a picture taken last season at a place you may know - the Sandhills gamelands on Camp Mackall NC. The shotgun I am hunting with is a 16 gauge Browning White Lightning my wife gave me. I am carrying a Buck 301 pocketknife in my left front pocket (officially keeping this thread on track!) OH

Old Hunter, small world--I was at Mackall Army Airfield a few years ago, as part of a contingency response group, for a joint Army/AF exercise. That week I carried a well-used Buck 422 from the mid '80s...a very tough knife indeed.

Thanks for your service, and looking forward to joining the retired ranks!

Thanks everyone for the Great Show... Boy we had some sweet Buck knives, Guns and pictures this Sunday....
